today my text message box was full

I could not get the messages that were being sent to me
I was told by a teenager that I would not be able to get anymore messages
When I asked why, I was told that because I had not opened the messages that I had received my mail box had become full and I would not be able to delete them.
I later found this not to be the case....but a TERRYfing (frightening) thought hit me.

Could it be that my stagnant ineffective christian witness may have something to do with this?

ORLANDO, Fla. - Victimized again by a last-second basket, The University of Tulsa lost a 74-72 heartbreaker at UCF Saturday evening.
Central Florida (16-9, 6-5 Conference USA) outscored the Golden Hurricane (17-9, 7-4) 24-9 in the final 7:21.
Sophomore Justin Hurtt led Tulsa's offensive effort with 18 points, while junior center Jerome Jordan scored 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Junior Ben Uzoh scored 12 points and sophomore Glenn Andrews put in 11 points. UCF's Jermaine Taylor scored 35 points and pulled down seven rebounds following a 38-point effort in a loss at UTEP on Wednesday.

SPANISH TOWN, St Catherine:
The King and Queen of Spain will visit Jamaica this month to witness the official opening of the newly refurbished Ward One at the Spanish Town Hospital, which was made possible with funding from the Government of Spain at a cost of €325,000.
The pending visit was disclosed Thursday during a courtesy call by Jesús Silva, Spain's ambassador to Jamaica, on Rudyard Spencer, minister of health and environment.
In the meeting, Spencer expressed gratitude for the interest the Government of Spain has shown in the local health sector through its renovation of Ward One.

I say yes, they are dragging this kid through the mud over an event that has nothing to do with his swimming ability! America get a grip.

No, he isn't being punished too harshly. There are consequences to pay when one is caught red-handed.Young people of today believe in moral relativity.....if it feels good, do it. There is no respect for rules or the law these days. There also doesn't seem to be any kind of conscience in wrong doing. Phelps only regrets he was caught, not that he was actually smoking contraband.

He is young and the young do some foolish things. I know I did. I am just surprised that someone so fit and healthy would mess with pot. I don't think weed is that big a deal but the sponsors don't agree with me. They have the right to release him. I do think it is harsh but life is like that sometimes.

RAMBLING... tomorrow

Tomorrow is my wife's birthday. She like Queen Elizabeth has two birthdays the other was on January first.... February is a heavy month for me. Anniversay on the 23rd ..then there is Valentines the 14th which BTW is also my sister's birthday...then there is BLACK HISTORY MONTH especially in this OBAMIC year ! !......those pictures were awesome, thanks again especially Grace and Lennon and Loma. Kirk Cameron is a very interesting life.
Last night we watched "FIREPROOF" the movie from blockbuster.
it was unusual for the kids and the parents to be watching together.
...especially MOM....she was tired from doing a double shift...it was a rare moment.. we watched TOGETHER. .....the movie is a blessing you should try to watch it too.


I had bought a DVD set of "growing pains" a while ago...so the children knew Kirk Cameron.


Tomorrow is also the superbowl...my first superbowl party was at a bar somewhere in the hills north of New York city. I had not the least interest in the game. I had come under the influence of a bunch of foul-mouthed, beer-drinking, __ _ _ -smoking, party animals...enough said.... ..anyhow, the point of the STORY is : you can be influenced by the wrong crowd.

Tomorrow my old friend and mentor, George will celebrate his 100th birthday.
Last night when I told the family that George taught me how to sing they thought it was a joke...you may think so too, but it is true. I used to like to tinker with stuff when I was growing up. During my tinkering times, I discovered radio. I have never lost the fascination with sounds...from afar....voices from beyond. It is in that way that I learned to listen. Across the years I have "met" and been influenced by many great minds through radio. Form the early years I remember the deep voice of Earl Nightingale as it boomed over the waves from RJR ...i beleive..the progrm was called 'our changing world'. Other favorites: the Rev. Oswald Hoffman on sunday morning again I think on RJR with "Bringing Christ to the Nations". By far the favorite was Billy Graham with "The Hour of Decision". I don't think we ever missed that program at our house in Hampton Street. In the later years whenever i would get a chance to preach on youth sunday etc, I would always imagine myself speaking with the voice of Billy Graham...using his phrases like "the bible says"....etc.

We eventually had a chance to see Billy and George in person when they came for a crusade to the National Stadium in Kingston. The unforgettable voice.... CLICK HERE FOR NEWSTORY

We also had the opportunity to sing with the mass choir in that great Stadium as night after night many would stream out of the stands onto the huge field to the alter in response to the message. It was during that time that we had to learn at choir practice in our local church on East Street...I think sister Lettman may have been in charge...we learned the words of this song that has stayed with me across the years...and helped me in many a desparate time...I will try to type it now from memory....

THIS FROM A FAMILY AT OUR CHURCH NOW ON THE MISSION FIELD   Dear Pastor, Church family and friends; We bring greeting to you in the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.We are all doing fine and continue to labor in the ministry. We thank you all for your continued prayer and support. One of the reason for me to write this news letter today is for Kiran who is 21 years old youth leader form our church.Kirans's parents are also members of our church for more than 5 years now. Kiran met with an accident 8 weeks ago. He hit a curb and was thrown off his bike.Kiran's friend who was riding with him was not hurt in the incident. At first his wounds did not seem to be serious, but unfortunately there was severe internal bleeding.As we live in a smaller city with not much medical help, he had to be rushed to Hyderabad 200 miles away to see a specialist. We were informed in Hyderabad that his kidney has been serious damaged but there was a good chance for it yo recover.But on Monday were told that the kidney has completely failed to recover in the 8 weeks since the incident. But the unfortunate part of all this is that kiran by birth has been born with only one kidney.He is going through dialysis ever other day. His mother has volunteered to donate him with a kidney, but first she has to be tested and she will be a good match for him. Please pray for this Young man and his family that the Lord will heal him and give his family the comfort that they need during this difficult time. Stefon Jackson led UTEP with 26 points, including 11 of 17 from the free-throw line. Kareem Cooper scored 11 points.
Tulsa opened up a 34-27 lead in the first half, when UTEP was plagued with 23 percent shooting from the field. The Hurricane held the Miners to just 36 percent shooting for the game.
The score was tied three times and featured eight lead changes.
