this week

The Need for Accountability
As sinners in a fallen world, we must admit that our lives always need improvement. I often feel like Paul-- "I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do-- this I keep on doing" (Romans 7:18-19). This is one reason for discipleship. We need others to help us along the road! Close one-on-one fellowship with another believer provides a special kind of accountability that is crucial to deep growth in your spiritual walk.

* The TRUTH About Flu Shots!
One theory that explains the seasonal nature of flu is that influenza is a vitamin D deficiency disease, I believe this may be a primary factor. Vitamin D levels in your body fall to their lowest point during flu seasons.

* The older I get, the more I want things to be familiar. I find myself choosing the same restaurants to frequent, the same clothing styles to wear, the same friends to enjoy, the same exercise patterns to follow, even the same place to sit in church.

"For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed."-Isaiah 9:16

"Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God."-Luke 16:15

* People power is alive and well in New York State as evidenced by Governor David Patterson's and his Health Commissioner's decision on October 22 to immediately suspend the mandatory swine flu vaccine for the majority of New York's healthcare workers.

To Jesus every day I find my heart is closer drawn,
He's fairer than the glory of the gold and purple dawn;
He's all my fancy pictures in its fairest dreams, and more,
Each day He grows still sweeter than He was the day before.

Refrain

The half cannot be fancied
This side the golden shore;
O there He'll be still sweeter
Than He ever was before.

His glory broke upon me when I saw Him from afar,
He's fairer than the lily, brighter than the morning star;
He fills and satisfies my longing spirit o'er and o'er,
Each day He grows still sweeter than He was the day before.

Refrain

My heart is sometimes heavy, but He comes with sweet relief,
He folds me to His bosom when I droop with blighting grief;
I love the Christ Who all my burdens in His body bore,
Each day He grows still sweeter than He was the day before.

<< John 21 >>
King James Bible

1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself. 2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples. 3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. 5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

there are some things that
YOU CANNOT DO
in fact....a lot of things
simply things too....

and what does that make me?
dependent....very dependent
so why is it that I always
want to act so
INDEPENDENT ?

Take for example
my friend Danny.
He had a fairly good job.
Was highly respected...but
his job scene became
A DEN OF LIONS.

folk began to tell the boss
that Danny was PRAYING.
BOSS MAKES A RULE...
NO PRAYER

Now DANNY is
IN THE LIONS DEN
for real.!!!!

They are all around him
everywhere....so
What does Danny do?
NOTHING !!!]

go to sleep.... !!!

what can he do?
what would you do?

so the lesson here is...
give it up....
stop worrying
you can't stop them
from gobbling you up!

Did you ever
SEE GOD
shut a Lions mouth?

He does it all the time
EVERYDAY ! !

you watch and see.

Bill collectors
Prosecutors

insurance agents
even the weather man...LOL

like a roaring lion
he will use anyone he can find
all kinds of

it is HE

MY BEAUTIFUL AMERICA
by Charlie Daniels

Have you ever spent the late afternoon
watching the purple shadows deepen in Arizona desert?

Or seen a herd of Elk plow their way
through waist deep snow on a cold Colorado dome?
Did you ever see the sun go down in Hawaii,
Or seen the stormy waves break over the rock bound coast of Maine?
Or have you ever see an eagle fly up out of the mists of Alaska?
Or a big October moon hanging full over the still Dakota badlands?

Have you ever tasted the gumbo in New Orleans, Bar-B-Que in Carolina
Or the chicken wings in Buffalo?
Have you ever had Brunswick stew in Macon, or cornbread in Burmingham?
Or brisket slow cooked over hill country mesquite wood?

Did you ever drink the water from a gurgling branch in Utah,
Or, stand on the mountain above El Paso Del Norte
And see the lights twinkling clear over into Mexico?
Did you ever jangle horses in the pre dawn stillness of a perfect Texas day
And watch their shodded hooves kicking up sparks on the volcanic rock?

Or tended a trout line on a foggy Carolina morning,
Or heard the distant song of a lovesick whippoorwill
On a pristine Tenneesee late night?
Have you seen the faces on Mount Rushmore or stood at the Vietnam monument?

Have you ever crossed the mighty Mississippi,
Or been to the daddy of them all in Cheyenne, Wyoming?
Or seen the mighty Vols run out on the football field on a chilly autumn afternoon?

Did you ever see the Chicago skyline from Lake Shore Drive at night?
Or the New England follage in the fall,
Or the summer beauty of the Shenandoah valley,
Or Indiana covered with new snow?

Did you ever seen a herd of wild horses running free
Across the empty spaces in Nevada?
Or, caught a walleyed pike out of a cold Wisconsin stream?
Or ,marveled at the tall ship docked in the harbor at Baltimore?

Did you ever see the early morning dew sparkling on the blue grass,
Or, the wind stir the wheat fields on a hot Kansas afternoon?
Or, driven the lonely stretches of old Route 66?
Have you ever heard the church bells peal their call to worship
On an early Sunday, in some small town in the deep south?

Or pass through the redwood forest just as the sun was going down?
Have you ever been to Boise or Batchlee or Beufort or Billings?
Have you ever passed through Sanford or Suffolk or San Angelo?
Have you ever seen the falls at Nigara?
The ice palace in Saint Paul?
Or the Gateway to the west?

This then is America!
The land God blesses with everything
And no Effel Tower: no Taj Mahal;
No Alps; No Andes;
No native hut; nor Royal Palace -
Can rival her awesome beauty,
Her diverse poplulation, her monolithic majesty.
America the Free !
America the mighty!
America the beautiful !
I pledge alligence to the flag of the United States of America
And to the republic for which it stands
One Nation Under God indivisible
with liberty and justice for all!

<< Isaiah 53 >>

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

*****************

<< Psalm 91 >>

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

*****************

<< Psalm 112 >>

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

<< Psalm 23 >>

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

impressions...FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I was rummaging around in the back of the braille
library in the days when my friend Captain RON
(Sherrigan) was principal of the School for the
Blind in Jamaica.

Those were

the days when I had an insatiable thirst for knowledge

or lets just say I was readinga lot of books. I came

across and 'devoured' a few hundred pages of a book

titled THE SECULAR CITY....and went in search of

THE FEAST OF FOOLS by thesame author...which

having found in another library

I promptly set about reading.

In his fascinating interpretation of contemporary culture and theology, Harvey Cox examines both the loss and reemergence of festivity and fantasy in Western civilization. He evaluates both processes from a theological perspective, defining festivity as the capacity for genuine revelry and joyous celebration and defining fantasy as the faculty for envisioning radically alternative life situations. He asserts that both are absolutely vital to contemporary human life and faith; both are a precondition for genuine social transformation. In a success and money-oriented society we need a rebirth of unapologetically unproductive festivity and expressive celebration. In an age that has quarantined parody and separated politics from imagination, we need a renaissance of social fantasy.

It has been said over and over again that affluent Western man has been gaining the whole world while losing his soul. In the face of this Mr. Cox affirms the possibility and necessity of a resurgence of hope, celebration, liberation, and experimentation. The medieval Feast of Fools, from which he has taken his title, symbolizes both the problem and the process. Centuries ago it provided an opportunity for the choirboy to play bishop and for serious townsfolk to mock the stately rituals of church and court. The eventual disappearance of the custom in the sixteenth century, unlamented if not welcomed by those in authority, illustrates the concerns of this provocative and controversial essay. Mr. Cox does not propose that a medieval practice should be revived, but he does argue for a rebirth in our own cultural idiom of what was right and good about the Feast of Fools.

My wife and I last year attended a seminar

In today's GLOBAL VILLAGE

the mingling is wired and

here's a case in point

She lived in Central Ohio, and she fled to Central Florida,

but the story of Rifqa Bary didn't start in either place.

It started on Facebook.

Bary, 17, ran away from home in July because she believes
her Muslim family has to kill her because of her conversion to
Christianity. She got on a bus and for 16 days lived in the
home of evangelical pastors Blake and Beverly Lorenz of
Global Revolution Church after she had gotten to know them
through a Facebook prayer group. The Internet has made
meeting more people in more places faster and easier than
ever before, and churches are taking advantage. A recent
Georgetown University study said 87 percent of religious
organizations use the Internet to attract new members.

will it work?

I thank God, who always leads us in victory because of Christ. Wherever we go, God uses us to make clear what it means to know Christ. It's like a fragrance that fills the air. 15 To God we are the aroma of Christ among those who are saved and among those who are dying. 16 To some people we are a deadly fragrance, while to others we are a life-giving fragrance. Who is qualified to tell about Christ? 17 At least we don't go around selling an impure word of God like many others. The opposite is true. As Christ's spokesmen and in God's presence, we speak the pure message that comes from God.

Against a morning sky, a mushroom cloud spirals heavenward. A nuclear bomb has detonated in the heart of Washington D.C., incinerating 15,000 residents in just 15 seconds. More than 50% of the population living within a 1/2 mile radius of the explosion is either dead or severely injured. The next 24 hours will determine whether the rest of the city lives or dies. To survive this horrific ordeal they will need a plan. And lucky for us--there is one. But will it work? For the first time on television, the Department of Homeland Security reveals the most detailed and comprehensive plan to save America should terrorists go nuclear. This chilling two-hour special delves into the complex and highly secretive world of disaster planning.

Family is Great !!

Thank you Cousin Max....
Words by A.L. Hendricks/Music by Lloyd Hall

Jamaica land of beauty,
We promise faithfully
To serve thee with our talents
And bring our gifts to thee.
Jamaica we will always
In honour of thy name,
Work steadfastly and wisely
And never bring thee shame.

From riverside to mountain
From cane field to the sea,
Our hearts salute Jamaica,
Triumphant, proud and free.

Together in our country,
In love and brotherhood.
We'll work and play in freedom,
As all God's children should,
With hearts and hands united
In thanks for everything,
That God has given unto us,
Together let us sing,

From riverside to mountain
From cane field to the sea,
Our hearts salute Jamaica,
Triumphant, proud and free.

I did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill - my share of losing.
But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing. SINATRA

How you have fallen from
heaven, you morning star
, ????
son of the dawn! How you have been cut down to
the ground, you conqueror of nations!

13 You thought, "I'll go up to heaven and set up my

throne above God's stars. I'll sit on the mountain

far away in the north where the gods assemble.

14 I'll go above the top of the clouds. I'll be like the Most High."

15 But you've been brought down to Sheol, to the deepest part of the pit.

16 Those who see you stare at you; they look at you closely and say,

"Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook the kingdoms,

do you know that as a christian beleiver
your body is possesed by the HOLY SPIRIT

19 Don't you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you received from God, lives in you. You don't belong to yourselves. 20 You were bought for a price. So bring glory to God in the way you use your body.

Pride a disease of the will or
why I can't have my way
<< 2 Timothy 4 >>
1 I solemnly call on you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge those who are living and those who are dead. I do this because Christ Jesus will come to rule the world. 2 Be ready to spread the word whether or not the time is right. Point out errors, warn people, and encourage them. Be very patient when you teach. 3 A time will come when people will not listen to accurate teachings. Instead, they will follow their own desires and surround themselves with teachers who tell them what they want to hear. 4 People will refuse to listen to the truth and turn to myths. 5 But you must keep a clear head in everything. Endure suffering. Do the work of a missionary. Devote yourself completely to your work.

6 My life is coming to an end, and it is now time for me to be poured out as a sacrifice to God. 7 I have fought the good fight. I have completed the race. I have kept the faith. 8 The prize that shows I have God's approval is now waiting for me. The Lord, who is a fair judge, will give me that prize on that day. He will give it not only to me but also to everyone who is eagerly waiting for him to come again.

COMPARED WITH THIS !!!?? it sounds good...right, but....
And now, the end is near,
And so I face the final curtain.
My friends, I'll say it clear;
I'll state my case of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full -
I've travelled each and every highway.
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets? I've had a few,
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course -
Each careful step along the byway,
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew,
When I bit off more than I could chew,
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried,
I've had my fill - my share of losing.
But now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that,
And may I say, not in a shy way -
Oh no. Oh no, not me.
I did it my way.

For what is a man? What has he got?
If not himself - Then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way.

Yes, it was my way.

FAMILY CHRONICLE: BOYZ2MEN

FAMILY CHRONICLE: BOYZ2MEN

As a young teenager, Sam changed from a good, obedient child to "sarcastic and volatile" at age 13. His mother was concerned .... Sam had a MySpace page that his mother had not seen:...

She knew her son; she knew that something was wrong - she was simply afraid to face it. Because if she faced it, then she had a decision to make: what to do about it.

It turns out that Sam's MySpace page was filled with inappropriate language and sexual references that made him feel alienated from his parents.

When boys are young, parents can begin developing their kindness by teaching them to speak well of others. Speech and behavior go together. Train a boy to speak well of others and over time he will treat those people better.

Disciplining a boy to talk differently will make him think differently.

It's all about getting rid of what's damaging ....

For a lot of my life I don't even think I'd even heard the word.
Now it's one of the most talked-about words in our health
and fitness vocabularies - cholesterol......

I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and I want to have
A Word With You today about
"Heavy On the Healthy Stuff."

So what are you filling up on?
You do have to keep junk out of
your heart or it will clog your heart....

The input you allow in creates the ideas you think about; and your ideas become your attitudes and your actions. So that means consciously and aggressively turning off the bombardment of impure ideas that come your way: the videos, the movies, the Internet sites, the soap opera immorality, the music that makes you all too wise about what is evil. You have to protect, or restore, your innocence. You can't afford even casual contact with dark stuff.
But just like cholesterol, you can't just be against the bad input. You need to be making a conscious, daily effort to load up on God's ideas and attitudes. Jesus said if you clean out one evil spirit and you just leave an empty space there, seven spirits worse will come back and fill that space. So, you have to fill the space in your thinking and your emotions that the dark stuff has been occupying.

pain intense....

He never worked
from His own individual standpoint,
but always worked from the standpoint of His Father.
And we must learn to do the same.
Spiritual truth is learned through the atmosphere that
surrounds us, not through intellectual reasoning.
It is God's Spirit that changes the atmosphere of our
way of looking at things, and then things begin to be
possible which before were impossible.
Getting into God's stride means nothing less
than oneness with Him. It takes a long time to
get there, but keep at it. Don't give up because
the pain is intense right now— get on with it,
and before long you will find that you
have a new vision and a new purpose.

rites of passage ? ...when do we become men....
I was listening to "Fresh Air" on public radio on
the drive home today. There was this guy on, talking
about manhood...the hurts, mistakes and regrets of a
husband and father...something like that....

I want to make the title of my book "the JOYS of manhood" or

"THE COMPLETE IDIOTS
GUIDE TO MANHOOD"

....so now I have to figure how to start.

BTW the title of this Guys book was
"MANHOOD for AMATEURS "

I figured out the way...
I am going to do
this by getting
a TON of OPV

I thought I was doing pretty good....

Joni and Friends Daily Devotional
October 6, 2009
Dear Ron,
The Wrong Kind of Expert
They never stop sinning...they are experts in greed.
                                    --2 Peter 2:14
I have vivid memories of what it was like to play hockey, ride a horse, and swing a tennis racquet.  When it comes to tennis, my mom was my best coach. She possessed great finesse and tried to pass good ball-and-racquet skills on to me. But I was a stubborn learner.

I recall my backhand. I thought I was doing pretty good, but my wrist was bent, my grip was wrong, and my body position wasn't square with the net. In other words, I had gotten very good at doing something very bad. Through hours of practice away from the coaching eye of my mother, I became an expert in poor backhand.

Have you gotten proficient at doing something very wrong? Peter in his epistle talks about people who practice doing the wrong thing and become experts in sin. They train themselves that way--with years of practice.  We need to train ourselves to do the right thing. Paul tells Timothy to train himself to be godly. He says, "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come" (1 Timothy 4:8).

As you live, day in and day out, you are either practicing godliness or selfishness. It has been said, "Sow a thought, reap an action. Sow an action, reap a habit. Sow a habit, and reap a character." If you want to do what is right, then you had better train yourself in godliness. That means practice--everyday.  Remember, others are watching!  "Let us, therefore, make every effort... so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience"  (Hebrews 4:11).

Don't get good at doing something wrong. Instead, make a choice today to live right. Train yourself to be godly.

* * * * *

Father God, You know how easily I fall into bad habits in my thoughts, heart, and actions. Show me how to break one habit and how to learn a godly one. Keep me from letting selfishness reign.

Blessings,

Joni and Friends

Super-typhoon roaring toward the Philippines

Philippine president, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, has declared a
nationwide "state of calamity" as it braces for the arrival of a
powerful super-typhoon, just days after another storm caused the
country's worst flooding in decades.

Forecasters have warned that Parma, a category five storm, will hit
the islands on Saturday. This is after hundreds were killed and the
city of Manila flooded by typhoon Ketsana. This is an an extremely
serious situation.

Please, let us stand in prayer for the Filipino people. Let's pray
that the strength of this category five storm will rapidly diminish.
Let us also give sacrificially to relief agencies that can get vital
food, medicines and basic necessities to the people in need.

Finally, let us continue to intercede for the Samoan Islands, Tonga
and Indonesia, all recently devastated by earthquakes.

are we the starved?

Those who are well fed seldom think about food
but for the hungry this becomes a consuming preoccupation.
And for modern people, the self has likewise become an obsession.

We are the starved.

How else can we explain the fact that
America has half the world's clinical psychologists
and one third of the world's psychiatrists?
Over approximately the last thirty years,
the number of clinical psychologists has increased 350%,
clinical social workers 320%, and family counselors 680%,
so that today we have two psychotherapists
for every dentist and there are more counselors than librarians.

THIS IS A TEST

Free

Dad, I am with you on the strong role of the father.
If you have heard me talk or read the writings.

I am a firm believer in biblical manhood.
I had a good example in my own father

we are living in a less than perfect world
women seem to overrun us...

it seems so easy to give in.....
and I did that for a while
much to my ruin.

I was listening to some conversation
regarding the family....my solutions
are different simply because I am always
coming from the point of view of the man.

so I don't really want to take sides in any dispute
but I just want you to know that I very much understand
where you are coming from....and I am praying for you
a whole lot....as I said to my brothers....I am not worried
about my sisters .....women will always find a way....
the devil will help them..as long as they get rid of the man !!

so my main concern is the man....
because you see my friend, as you know well

when fighting wars....the enemy always goes for
the command and control...remember in the desert
storm was where I first understood this idea.

BTW I was hunkered down in (an underground)
basement apartment..coming from work
watching the war..the first Gulf War...on TV.
night after night...living in SIN.

as the war was waged in full view of the world
on television...we all understood the strategy of our
united states forces......

we were not too concerned with the random fighting forces
our main goal was to take out the command and control

I do believe that God gives men instruction to be
head of the family....instructions that He does not
necessarily give the woman.

the problem is in today's world
the strategy of the enemy is to

distract the man
deceive the man and so
destroy the man

he wants to take out the command and control
the place where the fighting forces are getting
their orders....if there is no one hearing from God
and directing the war for truth and righteousness
pretty soon confusion will result and families by the
thousands have been overrun by this strategy.
extra-marital affairs..broken relationships..are
at the root of every crisis and problem now at
the national level.

we are distracted by so many things not the least of which is other women..or man

I am just pouring out my own heart to you, me at 55 years old hoping that I can
help you to help some other fighting man.....your sons and brothers just like
how someone helped me...I knew better..me and you are alike..we have
Godly foundation that is why we are specially targeted by the devil....
we are dangerous to his cause.....the man who God used to get a hold
of me in 1997 when I was destroying myself and my family...God used an
ex-homosexual man to point out to me that I needed to hear God and obey
the things that I had already learned and known....and get out of the female deception.

by that I mean trying to think that the woman was the enemy...
don't get me wrong....the woman is not the enemy but most often
she is working with the enemy because the man is DISTRACTED
from God. I think that is what we must learn from the deception
of Eve in the Genesis of the Bible...and saint Paul points out later
that the man was not deceived (first)...

so I am just saying that I know that there are others
who do not talk to you in this way...it almost seems as if sometimes
we help the devil to beat up on the man....
and take out the command and control center

but I am only here to tell you today that when you rise up
to be the spiritual leader that you are in your family....
not in the flesh...you will never be able to beat back the
forces of darkness by mental effort

I am praying for you and fasting..because I realize that
the enemy is bent only on our destruction as men and
leaders in our homes.

God has given you your wife
to love...and to lead
be wise and be strong
IN THE LORD

I am fighting the same fight
some days I win...other days
the victory is delayed
but I NEVER LOSE
as long as I really really
trust GOD...not just say so

I could talk to you for hours
on how He has come through
time after time again
when I was "down for the count"

let me know in any way that I can help you personally
to fulfill the purposes that God put in your heart for
YOUR Family.

AMEN

love one another

  • Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
  • Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
  • if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
  • That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord
  • Therefore watch and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears
  • THEY shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
  • evil men and seducers shall wax WORSE and WORSE, DECEIVING, and BEING DECEIVED
  • For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now (restraineth) will (restrain), until he be taken out of the way.
  • strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
  • Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
  • To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
  • Therefore seeing we have received this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
  • And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
  • 1John.4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
