Happy mothers Day, y'all

It was another mothers day
There were no mothers in church

...and the preacher preached about adultery.
David and Bathsheba (unusual for mothers day)
listen to it here...ooops sorry the link is lost...maybe this one was censored

If a thing is adulterated
it is mixed, or diluted or weakened.
Thou shaltl not commit adultery.
It does seem as though the will of God was adulterated first when the woman in the story was seduced to do something else, contrary to the original instruction.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The pastor made mention of Job
"...Curse God and die"
This was the message of a wife to her husband in their worst hour of loss. She and her husband had lost their seven sons, three daughters, their home, their livelihood, and their health almost simultaneously. This man and his wife had been a veritable model of success and prosperity held in the highest esteem by everyone who knew them. It was just too much for Job's wife to take. Her last recorded words to her husband were these: "Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God and die." (Job 2:9) But, Job said to his wife, "Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? Shall we not receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips."
How natural and how easy it is for any of us in our loss to blame God or worse, to curse the name of God. How often are such expressions vocalized, "I give up, I've had it. How much can one person take. I'd just as soon be dead." We so often fail to see that behind every seeming defeat and reversal there is a living God who is working His own infinite plan for your good and mine. READ MORE HERE

During or after punishment my mother sometimes would ask..
Who do you think you are?

Nowadays as the parent of teanagers and a young adult
I am often asking the same question...mostly to myself...
the modern child is fierce 2 Tim 3:3

they will answer unabashedly...

Still the question of identity is crucial.
Even Jesus wanted His disciples to notice what others thought
about His identity. He asked them "who do men say that I am?"
Then He asked them how they identified Him.

So who are you really?
Are you what you wear?
The fashion people at the mall certainly want you to think so....
it is good for business. The car people are the same.
Everybody knows that a VW person is different from a BMW person....Right!! ??

Proverbs 30:11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

It has become more obvious to me that the bible does not always function within the normal dimention of time...but that God will communicate inspite of time or generation or culture.

"a heperdimentional conflict between good and evil" is how Chuck Misler describes the experiences of our lives.

So that you are not always who you think you are. If this sounds a litle far-fetched, bear with me a little. I am trying to point to the fact that you are never really sure what influence you are having on others. If you claim to be a beleiver in the God of the bible, then you must be prepared to accept the idendtity assigned to you by that God.

"He that beleiveth is not condemned, but he that beleiveth not is condemned already"...these are the sayings of Jesus and "as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God".... "And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God, and joint heirs with Christ.

There are things in our lives that are the result of our own doings or choices, other things are the results of the doings of others, the most important aspects of our lives however seems to be the things unexplained, that are the doings of God.

So the goings-on in the world around us can not always be just the random acts of people, in fact " GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995) A person's steps are directed by the LORD, and the LORD delights in his way. and New American Standard Bible (©1995) And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

So who am I really? I would say a child of God !!
Now cheer up, ...you will understand it better by and by.
