Obama turns up pressure for Wall Street regulations reform

America! adrift?? A nation in spiritual decline. !!!!

Stock prices have been rising. The economy is "improving." Yet, the core edifice of American prosperity, driven by evident personal apprehensions, is still based upon endless consumption. Ground down by the incessant babble of politicians, we the people are motivated not by any balanced life search for dignity and harmony, but by the vaunted numbers on retail sales. - Louis Rene Beres,  THE WASHINGTON TIMES

I know not how the Spirit moves,
Convincing us of sin,
Revealing Jesus through the Word,
Creating faith in Him.

But I know Whom I have believèd,
And am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I've committed
Unto Him against that day

In 1963, prayer was removed from schools in yet another attempt to rid America of any reference to God. President Ronald Reagan recognized the danger of this act when he said:

"Our Pledge of Allegiance states that we are 'one nation under God,' and our currency bears the motto, 'In God We Trust.' The morality and values such faith implies are deeply embedded in our national character. Our country embraces those principles by design, and we abandon them at our peril. Yet in recent years . . . Americans . . . [have] for the sake of religious tolerance . . . forbidden religious practice in the classrooms. The law of this land has effectively removed prayer from our classrooms. How can we hope to retain our freedom through the generations if we fail to teach our young that our liberty springs from an abiding faith in our Creator?" 7

From her earliest days, America existed as a Christian nation. Perhaps this was due to the fact that most of her first settlers came for the purpose of being free to express their Christian beliefs in accordance with their own consciences. Yet it is undeniable that America has changed greatly since that time, forsaking moral values, and grower colder and colder towards Christianity. - NOSOTRO <-read more here

Hebrews 12:15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God;
that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

New International Version (©1984) Hebrews 4:1
Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands,
let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.

A rising number of Americans today say they're 'spiritual but not religious.' Fifteen percent say they don't identify with any religion - twice that of about two decades ago, according to the American Religious Identification Survey, released in 2009. And although many spiritual folks avoid faith labels, more than 9 out of 10 believe in God, and more than half say they pray at least daily, according to the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life's U.S. Religious Landscape Survey, published in 2008 - USA WEEKEND <-read more here

9 out of 10 !!????....maybe that is why America still survives....but remember this

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. - Romans 1:21

2 Kings 17:15 They rejected His statutes and His covenant which He made with their fathers and His warnings with which He warned them. And they followed vanity and became vain, and went after the nations which surrounded them, concerning which the LORD had commanded them not to do like them.
Jeremiah 2:5 Thus says the LORD, "What injustice did your fathers find in Me, That they went far from Me And walked after emptiness and became empty?

I know not what of good or ill
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see.

I know not when my Lord may come,
At night or noonday fair,
Nor if I walk the vale with Him,
Or meet Him in the air.
