belief

ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD . . .
Unbelief believes something different
Disbelief refuses to believe
Make believe believes lies

. . . they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.

And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. - Genesis‬ ‭14‬:‭12, 14, 16, 18-20‬

After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
- Genesis‬ ‭15‬:‭1, 6‬

A belief is an assumption
Which when tested and proven
May become a fact.
Astronomers once believed
the earth was flat.

We all have beliefs about circumstances and
about people.

A belief may be unprovable.

Beliefs may be passed
from person to person
by suggestion.

For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
- Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭3, 16‬

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
- Galatians‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. - Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭8-10‬

Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
- ‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭22-24‬
