If someone accidentally picks up a cup full of poison, but thinks it is lemonade, it does not matter how sincerely the person thinks it's lemonade, how much they believe it's lemonade, or how much they desire that it be lemonade, they are still going to suffer from the ill effects of the poison.
"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"
