rant

God does not or cannot control human will and choice?

These are big questions i dont know if i should ask or dwell on?

Would you be concerned to CONTROL your wife or your son's will or choice . . .

if you knew FOR SURE what
their choices would be ?

Free will is only a big deal with us because we are "locked" in the space/time thing

Once I realized the 'handicapping' effect of time on human perception the bible became much clearer to me

What God "knows" is faaaar more important than what God "does" . . . in fact this is the power of Gods DONE !

This is also why doing is our primary concern . . .

"Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart".

The danger is confusing
Gods Done with mans
Doings

Gods done is
UNTOUCHABLE !!!!

Mans doings are
REQUIRED :

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence,

work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Because some
leaders are afraid

1. that people will become competitive and lose sight of why they are "doing the works"

2. Or that people will compare themselves with others . . .

They can put an undue emphasis and make a false grace vs works argument that may give the impression that "works do not matter" in our Christian walk.

Gods words are very clear that the Christian must make his/her DOINGS a primary priority.

I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

But we have "grown up"

we are labourers together with God: you are God's husbandry, you are God's building.

DONE:

"other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."

You and I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that we are saved

DOING:

"if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble"

Every man's work

shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

If any man's work

abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

If any man's work

shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

THIS IS CRYSTAL CLEAR
Right?

RC is talking about the choices that you and I are free to make everyday
You and I cannot deny that we are free to choose

No doubt here at all:

"let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon"
Right?

"Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things".

Along with the 2fears of some preachers there are my 2fears (the fear of the people)

1. REJECTION BY MEN
That people are watching and judging what I do or don't do

"Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand."

2. REJECTION BY GOD

But I have been tempted / tormented by that idea in the past

To be quite honest the biggest fear/concern that I have is about my own

1. Complacency/laziness - am I doing enough?

2. Competence - can I do better?

Faith without works
is dead being alone

"let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works"

Romans 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge
of God!

how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

whatsoever things are true,

whatsoever things are honest,

whatsoever things are just,

whatsoever things are pure,

whatsoever things are lovely,

whatsoever things are of good report;

if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
