Examined

THE MAYORAL HIRING PROCESS
The person
The party
The people

If we (the people) are part
of the 'hiring team' . . .

A candidate puts in an application for the job - THE PEOPLES MAYOR.

Should we ask the
candidate for a resume?

===•===•===

Would it be safe to assume that any serious candidate would have such a resume crafted and ready for the job application process?

===•===•===

Ok, so now we have the
resume 'in hand'. We quickly
look the document over and
see that it falls into 3 main parts:

  1. QUALIFICATIONS
  2. EXPERIENCE
  3. REFERENCES

===•===•===

We the people - The hiring team - have several of these resumes 'in hand'. We have carefully verified the details. We have discarded some applications that were lacking the authenticity we required.

We are left with the ones we consider to be 'acceptable candidates'.

We have called you in for the
first in a series of 'interviews' and for questioning as will be required of ALL candidates.

These are some tough, even potentially embarrassing questions; we hope you are not offended and will not take them as insulting or as personal attacks on your integrity.

QUESTION #1
Do you agree that such examination be necessary for one seeking the public trust?

You are familiar with the aircraft industry. ALL pilots and mechanics must do requisite time on the simulators before 'going live'.

Then even after the preliminary approval, the 'new' appointee MUST come under intense scrutiny and supervision before being allowed to perform any duty involving the safety of many passengers.

QUESTION #2
How would you answer constituents who ask what experience do you 'bring to the table' as you ask us to put our fortunes, our families and our futures in your hands by giving you the enormous powers vested in the office of the mayor.?

QUESTION #3
We notice that this is your 3rd
application for this position.
Why do you want this job?

QUESTION #4
We see here that although your qualifications don't exactly match
those on our job offer, you still chose to apply for this position, why?
