rambling continued

I don't know if you noticed this feature on your MYPOD**
but on mine I have noticed that there is a marker in my memory
on the first time I heard or saw something.
__________

For example: the first time I heard the expression "UNREQUIETED LOVE"
was from my grand father - Vincent (daddy) Grey.
I learned a lot from daddy Grey.
I lived at his house for several months.
During the time I learned a lot. Daddy Grey Visited the Cerullo's...in fact Morris Cerullo
Had a very big impact on Daddy Grey's Ministry.
___________

I was noticing how sometimes son's follow fathers.
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
Billy and Franklin Graham
Oral and Richard Roberts
Morris and David Cerullo click here for Morris or David or Ben

Neuropathy is another word I picked up in my wanderings
My dad had some problems with his feet.
This somehow popped into mind when I was listening
to Erwin Lutzer’s insight ....on "feet shod with the preparation of the GOSPEL OF PEACE"

I like OPRAH but....
When the world’s most powerful celebrity (according to Forbes magazine) personally teaches a course on miracles, millions will join her class — including many believers. What will happen when the coursework blends inspiration and encouragement with some of the oldest heresies in the Enemy’s arsenal? People you know and love may dismiss the claims of Jesus Christ as the only way to God. Dr. Erwin Lutzer’s insight and clarity reveals the true nature of contemporary spirituality, tracing its roots across a range of false belief systems and back to its first appearance in the garden of Eden. In a day when so many seek direction from the media, it remains essential to carefully discern between truth and...the lie.

2 Chronicles 16:9

Michael Jackson gave us everythig he had....I liked him a lot.
read it here->Sharing with Jacko

Hi Ron,
Only God knows. JCTV says that three weeks before Michael died,
singer  Aundre' Crouch went to see him and told him about God's salvation plan. He  prayed with him and gave his heart to Jesus.  Love, your sister.

The LORD's eyes scan the whole world to find those whose hearts are committed to him and to strengthen them. You acted foolishly in this matter. So from now on, you will have to fight wars."
A very interesting story surrounds this often quoted verse.
My sunday school teacher quoted this in a totally different context last week.
Curiosity led me to read the entire chapter.

It seems as if we have not changed too much in this regard.
We have a tendency to rely on everything but the God of the bible.

Sister McHayle, Jacko and Harry

Sister Mac spoke a lot about the ENEMY OF SOULS.

We are told to resist the devil and he will flee from us and in the same place we are told to draw near to God anHe will draw near to us....but modern intelligent people think such drivle is a whole lot of nonsense.

The devil's great purpose, and for which he fights, is to keep the world in ignorance of himself, his ways, and his colleagues, and the Church is taking sides with him when siding with ignorance about him. Every man should keep an attitude of openness to all truth, and shun the false knowledge which has slain its tens of thousands, and kept the nations in the deception of the devil. ....from War in the Saints..click the picture to read the book

Earlier this week the world watched as we put away our friend "Jacko" with pomp and circumstance. I was very sad. I liked Jacko a lot and I wondered to myself how many times had he thought about God? Did someone keep telling him about the afterlife? had he brushed it aside? Certainly the circumstances of his passing reminds me a lot of the man who said to himself "I will tear down my barns anbuild greater ones". May we be reminded in this time of greif that our lives are not our own to do whatever we want.

May our attitudes be as Jesus who said "I MUST WORK THE WORKS OF HIM WHO SENT ME WHILE IT IS DAY"

I can hear her now as if it was Yesterday. Sister McHayle was one of the heroes of our family. She was Sunday School Superintendent for a while but she was different. In the eyes of some she may have been a nobody. So why was she a hero? Sister Mac was always living it...certainly she talked a lot ...like Jacko she had the spotlight. She had the opportunity everytime that she was "onstage" she spared nothing... just like Jacko she gave it everythig she had...this may seem like an odd comparison but I know many who read this and knew her will understand. The true heroes...people who make a big difference in our lives are DRIVEN by a higher power of which there are only God and the devil and they are not equal or even close by any stretch of the imagination. I invite you to think about the people who influence you and the people you are influencing....wether we like it or not we are all interconnected....that is FAMILY.

Let you light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven. - JESUS

AMEN

His whole face is blistered

o Safety Alert concerning heating water or other liquids in a microwave oven:

A 26-year old man decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water and put it into the microwave to heat it up (something he had done numerous times before.) When the timer shut the oven off, he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he noted that the water was not boiling, but suddenly the water in the cup “blew up” into his face. The cup remained intact until he threw it out of his hand, but all the water had flown out into his face due to the build up of energy. His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face which may leave scarring.

He also may have lost partial sight in his left eye. While at the hospital, the doctor who was attending to him stated that this is a fairly common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the cup to diffuse the energy such as a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc.., (nothing metal).

General Electric’s Response:

Thanks for contacting us, I will be happy to assist you. The e-mail that you received is correct. Microwaved water and other liquids do not always bubble when they reach the boiling point. They can actually get superheated and not bubble at all. The superheated liquid will bubble up out of the cup when it is moved or when something like a spoon or tea bag is put into it.

To prevent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid for more than two minutes per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the microwave oven for 30 seconds! before moving it or adding anything into it.

Here is what a local science teacher had to say on the matter: ‘I have seen this happen before. It is caused by a phenomenon known as super heating. It can occur anytime water is heated and will particularly occur if the vessel that the water is heated in is new, or when heating a small amount of water (less than half a cup).

What happens is that the water heats faster than the vapor bubbles can form. If the cup is very new then it is unlikely to have small surface scratches inside it that provide a place for the bubbles to form. As the bubbles cannot form and release some of the heat that has built up, the liquid does not boil, and the liquid continues to heat up well past its boiling point.

What then usually happens is that the liquid is bumped or jarred, which is just enough of a shock to cause the bubbles to rapidly form and expel the hot liquid. The rapid formation of bubbles is also why a carbonated beverage spews when opened after haven been shaken.

blueprint of a great nation

NOT SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADERthe tv show did you watch it???

I think I first heard the word blueprint from daddy Martin AKA Uncle Sonny AKA Sonny man.
This man was obsessed if ever there was an obsession. I have seen him at every hour of the day and night pouring over this blue print. I don't beleive the word compulsive is the right word. The word I will use is a word I also heard him use...it is the word DRIVEN.

Me and uncle Dale started our fourth of July this year pouring over some historical records. We were trying to understand some of the present goings-on in these great United States under our wise "new" president. It became very clear that the people who started this great country were obviously pouring over the same blueprints that daddy was studying. He was trying to build a family, they were trying to build a nation. The extent to which either have suceeded or failed will only become obvious when we examine for ourselves those same BLUEPRINTS.

It has become very clear to me that the Ivy league education that I so much crave will be quite useless unless I understand the blueprint. ALL of the Ivy League schools started out as institutions to train ministers. Times have changed, nowadays many people could care less.
Some think I tend to sound gloomy. That's how it is with us ex-comedians...or recovering or whatever. Sorry.....I was looking into this story telling PROCLIVITY (look it up) Mama used to sing a lot of songs over the wash tub. The one I remember most is TELL ME THE OLD OLD STORY....maybe she was sending subliminal messages LOL.

Speaking of which....standby for one of my crazy right turnZ....some people call it a SEG WAY (a segue is a method of smoothly transitioning from one topic to another. A segue allows the host or writer to naturally proceed to another topic without jarring the audience. A good segue makes the subject change seem like a natural extension of the discussion.Segues can also be performed on televisual journalism, such as on news reports or current affairs programs.

I had some personal Hygeen (sp) issues...mama detected these very early on. I think mama was washing the laundry and decided that if I washed better she would wash less. So guess what..... Mama put me in the wash tub and scrubbed my neck and behind my ears....not just once.....many times....I should be ashamed of myself....right ?......this maybe one of those WHITEKNUCKLING moments that my big sister is so afraid of.....anyhow there are just somethings that I remember or notice that stick in my brain......like my mom is a very good judge of people and there personalities.....so when this young doctor told her that he wuz going to take out my tonsils she was quick to detect that his ambitions were a bit misguided. She prayed on it and sure enough THE LORD made it quite plain that no such thing was going to happen.

Thanks to mommy's wise decision today I don't suffer from allergies, I can hear things that make my kids wonder, furthermore I can sniff out a bad attitude in a teenager a mile away.....and BTW I didn't let them have my appendix either.....so I am always having AFTERTHOUGHT....have you noticed how much we use ANYWAY and such Appending tools.

Grace Beta Ginsgerg wuz the first supreme court appointee in our family. (not to be confused with Ruth beta.....whatever...anyhow I think her / our neice Staceyyee has continued this great family tradition and is the current member in the supreme court.....how did I get off on this....Oh...Mrs Mills wuz the math teacher I had in my first year of high school.....she wuz good very good.....Berky can tell I think he had her too.....the thing with Mrs Mills ( she had to be about 50 at the time) wuz that she marked the problems wrong but she called you to the desk to find out WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!!???.......I now realize that is why Mrs Mills was such a good teacher. I don't have to judge you...but IF we are to repair our badly damaged relationship.....it will help a lot if we know exactly what it was that we were thinking that made us draw the conclusions and make the decision TO RUN AWAY FROM HOME!!!!! Or from GOD or from whatever it is that we are running away from or trying desparately to avoid.

These SEGWAYS are horrible....I definately should have gone to jounalism school....
THE SUPREME COURT...yup that's where I wuz
When I judge you...or you judge me....does the bible say:
  1. I should judge righteous judgement
  2. I should not judge at all
  3. I should not judge before the right time
  4. None of the above or all of the above
The supreme court overturned the decision of a lower court, why/..... failure to consider MITIGATING circumstances.....I MUST CONSTANTLY MAKE ALLOWANCES for mitigating factors.....It is one of the biggest challenges of my adult life.....I have so often rushed to judgement only to have my decisions OVERTUNED by the HIGHER COURT.

So and so is a fool....idiot....liar.....theif....wicked etc etc
This child is lost, stubborn, ....etc....
The boss is the most unscrupilous.X^%#$@(*!
My spose is.....@##%!^&@#^!(
The pastor was an hypocrite...period!!!!
The president is a wicked communist capitalistic fool !!!!
Having recieved the guilty verdict of the jurors the judge was now moving into the sentencing phase.

The Judge had an array of sentencing options and guidelines
The sentence had to take into consideration
  1. all the testimony of the witnesses
  2. all the physical evidence
  3. any mitigating circumstances
I dont know about you but I have
been a very poor judge...
but I am working on it.

PS: Mrs Mills handed us over to mister Been. He was the math teacher in the second high school year. Mrs Mills did such a great job on me that I wuz promoted to the A class...this was when I first met such luminaries like the Honorable Berkman Gordon, the great Sir Isaac Newton Foster, the venerable Molen Moxey.....well he is in a whole other 'class' in fact I am currently searching diligently for Molen to testify in another matter, anyone knowing the whereabouts of said witness should contact this office ASAP.
Mr Been, (AKA Beanhead) took us to a whole new level, basically he brought just a tad less estrogen to the math lessons, if fact I do beleive that this is where we first all OD ed on totesterone. Beanhead was tough...needless to say I fell off the MATH boat until I left high school which was when I took and passed the high-school math exam for the first time. I did not tune out, however, I was a little lost on the algebra but I loved Geometry and Trig...was hoplesly lost on calculus.....do you beleive that all this came flooding back last night as I was watching dumber than a fifth grader on tv......I want to keep going about my fifth grade year...but I have to find Moxey first......
more on that SOON.....

HAVE A HAPPY 4TH.

the other Uncle Billy

DEAR BILLY GRAHAM: Why does atheism seem to be growing so much in recent years? I guess there have always been people around who didn't believe in God, but atheists seem to be in the public eye a lot more than they used to be. — M.M.

DEAR M.M.: Yes, atheism has been in the public eye more in recent years, largely because of a few atheists who've captured the public's attention through their books. They aren't large in number, but they do tend to be aggressive in promoting their ideas.
Why have they drawn so much attention? One reason, I believe, is because they know how to use the media very effectively. They also appeal to people who want to be free from God or any moral restraints. Like the philosophers of Paul's day who were constantly looking for new ideas to debate, many people today eagerly latch on to the latest fad (see Acts 17:21). Atheism attracts their attention, at least for a while.
In reality, however, modern atheists have very little new to say. In fact, atheism has been around for thousands of years; even the Psalmist, writing hundreds of years before Christ, referred to them: "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God' " (Psalm 14:1).
Don't be misled by those who claim God doesn't exist, because he does. And the ultimate reason we know it is because he came down from heaven and walked on this earth in the person of Jesus Christ. Christ was God in human flesh, and he proved it by rising from the dead.

Tribute to Riker1/7/09

Yes, this one was different. In 2001 when my first grandchild was born he wondered into our yard. My nephew taught he was a good dog and named him Riker. Of course the responsibility of doing the fatherly thing was left to me buying feed, making sure that he was taken care of, and when the garage was messed up I had to clean it. I enquired about the whereabouts of the owner and I did not get an answer so for the past 8 years we kept this dog. I cannot explain that although I am not a dog lover, I am not the same I saw him like a child. When we drive into our yard he would always show us how much he loved us and when we talk to him it was as if he was a child and he understood every word we said to him. For me, sometimes I might be angry with someone and he was my “sounding board” I felt he understood what I was saying to him. My grandchildren especially my namesake was so fond of him that when she came over every other week, he would be the first that she should want to talk with. She called him Riker, Riker in a shrill voice.I never understood the connection that one would have with an animal until Riker walked into my yard. I spent a lot buying him food; for the most part we all spent a lot. I remember asking my wife about him so many times since I work in a different country. Sometimes I would say to her did you feed him three times for the day? She would say,” he got his meals”. I had this special connection to him. Do you understand? I guess you might have to allow your mind to wander somewhat, think of someone who has a spouse or close relative or friend who died. The pain does take some time to diminish. Well, this our Beloved Riker will take some time, of course, we will always remember him. I guess most of you will not understand what we are going through as a family. This was the dog that watched over my yard, he would not bite you but he made a loud noise and when strangers come they would be “warded” off. I think we all felt protected. He was like a gentle giant though. I think we will always remember Riker for being a protector, a part of the family, a friend would listen to the family members who went out to talk with him, most of all we will not forget him because he expired five days after the “King of Pop” died. Have you ever wondered where you were when someone very famous died? I couldn’t’ remember where I was when President Kennedy died, but I do remember where I was when Michael Jackson died, I was in the Cayman Brac airport travelling from Cayman Brac to Grand Cayman. So what is the connection? I will always remember Riker and when he died because he died 5 days after the most influential musician died.

who is Doug Coe?

The Family was founded in April 1935 by Abraham Vereide, a Norwegian immigrant who made his living as a traveling preacher. One night, while lying in bed fretting about socialists, Wobblies, and a Swedish Communist who, he was sure, planned to bring Seattle under the control of Moscow, Vereide received a visitation: a voice, and a light in the dark, bright and blinding. The next day he met a friend, a wealthy businessman and former major, and the two men agreed upon a spiritual plan. They enlisted nineteen business executives in a weekly breakfast meeting and together they prayed, convinced that Jesus alone could redeem Seattle and crush the radical unions. They wanted to give Jesus a vessel, and so they asked God to raise up a leader. One of their number, a city councilman named Arthur Langlie, stood and said, "I am ready to let God use me." Langlie was made first mayor and later governor, backed in both campaigns by money and muscle from his prayer-breakfast friends, whose number had rapidly multiplied. MORE HERE

___________________________

In 1932, James A. Farrell, president of US Steel, tried to persuade then Governor Franklin Roosevelt that economic depression was "caused by disobedience to divine law," and that the only cure was a mix of spiritual revival and unprecedented powers for corporate leaders. In 1936, Frank Buchman, the founder of the Moral Re-Armament movement—a network of upper crust Christian clubs—announced, "Human problems aren't economic. They're moral, and they can't be solved by immoral measures." He suggested instead "God-controlled democracy, or perhaps I should say a theocracy." Bruce Barton, a founder of advertising giant BBDO and the author of one of the 20th century's bestsellers, The Man Nobody Knows (it was Jesus, whom Barton proposed as the greatest CEO in history), won a seat in Congress in 1938 by proposing to a nation battered by unfettered capitalism that it "Repeal a Law a Day."

The most influential of these businessmen for God was a Norwegian immigrant named Abraham Vereide, founder of an annual ritual of piety and politics that survives to this day, the National Prayer Breakfast. In 1935, Vereide created a "fellowship" of Christian businessmen bound together by the idea that God hates government regulation because it interferes with a believer's ability to choose right or wrong. He found receptive audiences in private meetings with Henry Ford and the president of Chevrolet, Thomas Watson of IBM and representatives from J.C. Penney. By 1942, he'd moved to the capital, where the National Association of Manufacturers staked him to a meeting of congressmen who would become students of his spiritual politics, among them Virginia senator Absalom Willis Robertson—Pat Robertson's father. Vereide returned the manufacturers' favor by telling his new congressional followers that God wanted them to break the spine of organized labor. They did.

Vereide died in 1969, but his organization—known in his day as International Christian Leadership, in ours as the Fellowship Foundation or the Family—still prospers. In a recent survey of 360 evangelical leaders—not preachers but politicians and businesspeople—Rice University sociologist D. Michael Lindsay found that a plurality named the Fellowship one of the most influential religious groups in Washington. "There is no other organization like the Fellowship, especially among religious groups, in terms of its access or clout among the country's leadership," wrote Lindsay. "The most powerful group in Washington that nobody knows," as David Kuo, a special assistant to Bush in his first term, put it, praising the publicity-shy network of piety-brokers.

The Fellowship's core creed is Christian fundamentalism filtered through the free market. In lieu of regulation, the Fellowship preaches reconciliation, a process they put into practice by bringing politicians and business leaders together to declare to one another their earnest desires to do right by God, and each other. "Self-interest by proxy" is how Will Wilkinson of the conservative Cato Institute describes the Fellowship's brand of biblical capitalism.

"We are entering the age of minority control," Vereide predicted back in 1942, prophesying the corporate consolidation that would come to be known as globalization. He welcomed it. "It is to a righteous 'remnant'"—leaders whose economic success indicated God's anointing—"that God has entrusted the salvation of nations in all ages of history." That perspective allows the Fellowship's biblical capitalism a certain flexibility. As Doug Coe, Vereide's successor, puts it, "We work with power where we can, build new power where we can't." more

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

Rambling.....its fathers day again....

"If you have seen me you have seen the father"

this could be a rough ride...I hope we can stay on the train of thought

Show us the father and we will be ok…. John 14:8

Reality was sinking in…the miracles had come and gone, the celebration was over. It was now becoming clear that things were not going to turn out all rosy and fine. Cynicism began to question everything, doubt was creeping in. Skepticism was becoming full blown disbelief…..unbelief !!

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Fast forward to June 2009…..

  1. The world is at a historical crossroad with the security and even survival of humanity at stake. One path continues along the way that has been pursued to date, of the right of might and every person for himself regardless of the consequences. QUOTE

  1. President Obama once said the deficit "keeps me awake at night." He's not alone. Three recent polls show that while Obama's approval ratings remain high, most Americans are preoccupied with the deficit and many question about whether the president is willing and able to rein in spending.

Is The American Empire Bankrupt ?

By Chris Hedges Click here to read the story

This week marks the end of the dollar's reign as the world's reserve currency. It marks the start of a terrible period of economic and political decline in the United States. And it signals the last gasp of the American imperium. That's over.. It is not coming back. And what is to come will be very, very painful.

Each time we pray "Thy Kingdom come" in the prayer the Lord taught us, we are acknowledging that the present kingdom which has many branches known as countries, is going down. As a Christian, nothing that happens in this world surprises me because I have been told about it before. We Christians have been instructed in God's word to set our hope (our afection, mind, heart) on things above not on things here. So our politics whether it be right or left wing, our economy, whether it be capitalism, nationalism, communism or any other ism will crumble. There is no human savior. It is only a matter of time before the whole world economy collapses.
They will decay because they have their source in the genius of humanity. Now is the time for the people of God to rejoice because the writing is on the wall!!!!!

FROM : Ronald Benjamin , aiming to be a blessing

Nowadays people spend more time with

their workmates than with their families.

This makes me wonder about the title I once read in a book describing the family as the "PRIMARY KINSHIP GROUPING"....nowadays in terms of time spent, family is kinda secondary for some people.

So I am looking around the workplace at the problems that exist and I am wondering if these people are transfering their family situations into the workplace. ...Shazam !!! of course we are !!...someway somehow..we must,.. right? For instance you may want to make your boss your dad...if for example he has a quality which you like in your dad....or maybe wish your dad had. Maybe you can become lost in fantasies. Just a thought. J

I think there is a bully in my workplace....overhearing conversations on the phone seems to confirm the suspicion that this person is also a bully at home.

Jesus said "IF YOU HAVE SEEN ME YOU HAVE SEEN THE FATHER"

It is not always true that people are like their father.....directly...but there is some connection.

Either we avoid the things we dislike and try to be opposite or we just default to likeness without too much thought .

So anyhow its fathers day again and I am thinking about it.

Right off the cuff I must admit to a rather poor start in the fathering business.....but I do believe that I have improved somewhat if I might say so myself.

I was always very squeamish about rating my parents....I just think it can end up being dishonoring in the biblical sense. I would rather be thankful for what I received and to think that my parents really did the best they could.

I do think however now that I look back a little...and being the great story-teller that I so want to be....I didn't really know too much about my father by self-disclosure.....so I must respect that privacy for what it is worth and not give in to misguided curiosity. I must not however ignore testimony. Those impressions that have formed across the years. The things that are evident....evidence immediately available to all.

Not just things evident need to be considered but things of good report, things virtuous and praise-worthy.

Why? See Philippians 4

My Father was thoughtful….he though about things a lot ! Mindful is another word. What strikes me about many people in today's world is how mindless their behavior seems to be. One does not need to be calculating in the negative sense but I definitely need to think things through more carefully. The biblical book of Proverbs is full of instruction in this. For example

Proverbs 21: 5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

I won't take too much time but "careful" was another word daddy used a lot….so much so that when I got my drivers license I was unable to operate a vehicle over 50 MPH without mentally going to pieces. I was telling this to some friends the other day and they could not believe. Daddy's thinking went like this, in fact he would say that cars are man made and anything can go wrong. I always had pictures in my mind of a wheel flying off at 50 MPH….so I never drove fast but Ioved the curves, so to save face I used to tell my young friends that I was a "rally driver" not a 'drag racer'…..in fact my favorite stretches of road were the DEVIL's RACECOURSE and the JUNCTION….I hated the QUEEN's HIGHWAY….it was so long and straight and boring !!!!

WAR and PEACE

My mother taught me blessed are the peacemakers...so I never really learned to fight...but I kept being called a warrior.

why would I tell anybody that I am not at war with my wife? Or my kids or anyone who is coming againt me? Am I a peacemaker just because I allow myself to be beat up and run over all the time…that's kind of wimpy…right?? So I am not standing up for anything, not standing against anything, is this a peacemaker?

The thinking used to be it takes two to tangle.

America is not at war with Islam ! !! ?

Islam is a religion of peace !!!

By peace he will deceive many – (Daniel)

I am not come to bring peace but a sword

The peacemakers are blessed because they are at peace with GOD

Love your enemies....they are still your enemies

The fight will never stop....the enemy is not the person it is the one who is using the person.

Luke 12:49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

This is pretty rough stuff coming from the master…..do you see any easy way around this???.....read the entire chapter from verse one….this is really challenging material…….

I don't know....

and I don't care...It don't matter

Ecclesiastes 8 >>
GOD'S WORD ® Translation

1 Who is really wise? Who knows how to explain things? Wisdom makes one's face shine, and it changes one's grim look.
2 I advise you to obey the king's commands because of the oath you took in God's presence. 3 Don't be in a hurry to leave the king's service. Don't take part in something evil, because he can do whatever he pleases. 4 Since a king's word has such power, no one can ask him what he is doing.
5 Whoever obeys his commands will avoid trouble. The mind of a wise person will know the right time and the right way to act. 6 There is a right time and a right way to act in every situation. Yet, a terrible human tragedy hangs over people. 7 They don't know what the future will bring. So who can tell them how things will turn out? 8 No one has the power to prevent the spirit of life from leaving. No one has control over the day of his own death. There is no way to avoid the war against death. Wickedness will not save wicked people from dying. 9 I have seen all of this, and I have carefully considered all that is done under the sun whenever one person has authority to hurt others.
10 Then I saw wicked people given an honorable burial. They used to go in and out of the holy place. They were praised in the city for doing such things. Even this is pointless. 11 When a sentence against a crime isn't carried out quickly, people are encouraged to commit crimes. 12 A sinner may commit a hundred crimes and yet live a long life. Still, I know with certainty that it will go well for those who fear God, because they fear him. 13 But it will not go well for the wicked. They will not live any longer. Their lives are like shadows, because they don't fear God.

We are ripe for judgement....don't put it out of your mind...live daily in the presence of God....

no need for regret

"I regret going to Colorado"

"I should never have taken my vacation in September"

Poor choices, bad decisions, mistakes....we all make them, sometimes we are beaten up a lot

by our own conscience by family, even friends....but the sorrow of regret is not the same

as the sorrow that can heal our hurt and restore our relationships

Mrs Job for example was trying to make her husband regret the times

he spent going to church...."curse God and die" was the advice she gave her husband.

Mr Adams was trying to make his wife regret that she didn't follow his instruction so he told his BOSS it is the womans fault.

The Davidson kid flat out blamed his dad...his regret: that 'you are my parents' and maybe he was right...the parents made many poor choices, mistakes etc.... outright sins ...committing adultery is definately not the prescribed way to build a family. ...but this is what this kid found himself in...a profoundly disfunctional family.

Much of the book of Psalms in the bible describes some of the emotion in the disfunctional family of David (the Davidsons).....and yet we have some of the most delightful and encouraging words in the Psalms.

So the way of regret and recrimination only leads to depression and dispair.....been there done that !!!

but when I first read this:

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. 12 Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you. 13 Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.

The Clearing of yourselves jumped out at me.

I'm not sorry

I'm not sorry

I've answered the Master's call

Jesus took my heavy load

Now I'm on the glory road

I'm not sorry

I'm not sorry

I'm not sorry at all !!!

coercion vs consent, war and peace

THE FACE OF APOSTACY

I walked up to the cashier, she was very pleastant, I was friendly, I smiled and paid and left thinking how modest she seemed to be in her traditional muslim headdress and frock…….

There is a fear that has come to be associated with Muslims since we identified the 911 hijackers as muslim.

Not only do we now fear them but some in our society have come to hate them. The president Barak in his speech in Cairo sensing the antagonism between cultures was trying to bridge the gap. This is quite consistent with the image we had as we listened to the Notredame speech a few weeks ago. The central theme: "finding common ground". Focussing on the things that unite us rather than the things that divide us.

An historic examination of the two cultures suggests that the Islamic and Judaeo-Christian religions can be traced back to two brothers, Isaac and Ishmael. The president Barak is consistent in his role : a man of peace, the image is of a father trying to settle a sibling squabble....fast forward from Genesis now to Omega....the revelation is now clear that only the one who started this can end it....shall come in like manner evan as you saw (through the eyes of history) him go. The question for us is 'do we accept the record of history?'

Western civilization based on the religion of Isaac has become decadent. Greed and perversions of all kind have come in the name of freedom. The Ishmaelites on the other hand, have somehow managed to keep a stricter culture more regimented and fierce in its prosecution of wrongdoings. Most Western democracies have lapsed into a kind of anarchy in the name of freedoms. The real problem is the insiduous nature of these cultures. They tend to creep into the more structured "Ismaelite" societies through the channels of modern media and plant the seeds of lust that starts the breakdown of the moral fabric that hold a society together. None of us would deny that Hollywood is the largest promoter / exporter of immoral lifestyles in the world today. So the question for our "man of peace" is will he be able to sign the covenant?

Before this month ends there may be a new leader in Iran. Israel will not be allowed to strike Iran if our president has his way.

Now what?....."then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man..." this is a direct quote from the "writings" that comes to mind,

there should be no doubt in the mind of the serious student of history that these are highly unusual times and recent events suggest that there may be a certain judgement in the making nevertheless as it was in the times of Noe and this is another direct quote "people will be eating and drinking" being entertained, oblivious to the signs of the times.

uncle sam wants you to know.

What's in a name?

Names. Everyone has one, most people have a vague idea what their own means, but few give them much more thought. The study of names is called onomastics, a field which touches on linguistics, history, anthropology, pyschology, sociology, philology and much more.
When people refer to the "meaning of a name", they are most likely referring to the etymology, which is the original literal meaning. MORE HERE

courage

Would you be brave enough to admit that God "spoke' to you?
Nobody really cares if God spoke to you right?
How about if God told you to tell someone else?
YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR MIND !!!!

God may not have told you anything at all!!
...but how do you know for sure?

"So what does it mean to muster and demonstrate courage as a Christian living in the world today? ......You know what it means to face economic isolation, persecution, danger and perhaps even death for your faith. You know well that Jesus is not merely aware of your struggle and your fear; he is also with you, until the very end of the age. He offers the eternal victory for those who stand firm in the faith. He stands at the right hand of the Father, interceding for you, that you would be strong in courage. And he reminds us all, that he is the one who has conquered death, that even death would not eternally conquer us. Be faithful, and remain strong, that Christ might give you the lasting crown of life. ".....What grave dangers am I facing for the cause of Christ? Not many. And for those of us living in free societies, that is not our fault. We are blessed to live under a government supportive of freedom of religion, generally.
But we can ask ourselves, as disciples who follow our Lord, are we boldly going where Christ has gone before? Are we taking risks for the Kingdom of God? Where we are called? If we are not going anywhere, then we must be standing still, and so cannot say that we are being led. ....
We need the courage to be different. We are commanded not to conform to this world, not to accommodate ourselves to the corrupt customs of the world. The Christian must expect to meet opposition for being distinctive. .....As individual believers we ask ourselves such difficult questions. I encourage you to take a kind of spiritual inventory of your life. Are there areas where you are playing it safe? Are you avoiding difficult conversations at work or within your family or circle of friends, conversations that challenge behaviors that hurt other people or are in other ways unholy? Are you giving generously to God, are you tithing your income, even in this time of worldwide recession, not because the church budget needs it, but because God in his sovereignty asks it of you? Have you committed yourself to being an active part of a local church body, since that is the way the Holy Spirit addresses Christians in giving us the Scriptures?
Evangelism in particular is an area that calls for courage in the life of those who follow Jesus. We need the courage to persevere. This will mean more than speaking out in faith once, then pulling back".....
