more on knowing... A. W. Tozer

[klikit]
While on his way home from work at a tire company, he overheard a street preacher say: "If you don't know how to be saved... just call on God." Upon returning home, he climbed into the attic, heeding the preacher’s advice.

are we warriors or wallflowers?
"The idea that this world is a playground instead of a battleground has now been accepted in practice by the vast majority of Christians. They are facing Christ and the world....
"The ‘worship’ growing out of such a view of life is as far off center as the view itself - a sort of sanctified nightclub without the champagne and the dressed-up drunks."
This World: Playground or Battleground?
by A.W. Tozer, pp. 5-6.

We do the greatest service to the next generation of Christians by passing on to them undimmed and undiminished that noble concept of God which we received from our Hebrew and Christian fathers of generations past. This will prove of greater value to them than anything that art or science can devise.

To know by Faith is the only TRUTH.

The tree of THE KNOWLEDGE
of good and evil.

The first sin was beleiving the lie from the devil:
Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

The Scopes trial was a pivotal turning
point in the History of the USA.
On the seventh day of the trial, Clarence Darrow took the unorthodox step of calling William Jennings Bryan, counsel for the prosecution, to the stand as a witness in an effort to demonstrate that belief in the historicity of the Bible and its many accounts of miracles was unreasonable. - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Over and over we are told that
the just SHALL live by faith.

Habakkuk 2: 1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Hebrews 10:38 - Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11 - But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

So is this blind faith?
....Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
I love GOD so much and the words of God because the Holy Spirit in writng the bible left no stone unturned. What else can a "normal" human mind conclude from Hebrews 11:1 but that it is a logical contradiction? It is obvious, however to the "transformed" mind that God always thows something in to "SHUT DOWN" mere human reasoning. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. This is what it means THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH !!HIS FAITH !!!

2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. AMEN.

WHY NOT ?

WHY ?
It is natural for us to ask why.
As a parent of teenagers I have learned to quickly "lob the ball back across the net" with WHY NOT?...but that does not always buy me enough time with these quick witted teens. So I was thinking about this craving for answers....and....as usual it is BACK TO THE BIBLE.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. - Proverbs 3:5,6,7,8

The search for answers usually comes down to the need for understanding.
When I was in school they told me that the scientific method was how we come to know anything.
the method was:
1. observation
2. measurement
3. testing
4. experimentation
5. theorizing...something like that...WHATEVER !!
I liked the idea at the time, especially when we got to go into the lab and "fooled around"..things would bubble and fume and explode and so on and we were supposed to write down what happened and draw some conclusions.

I later found out from my father that science was only one method of getting knowledge. He taught us that by far the more reliable method was something he called REVELATION. I was not too sure at the time but later came to find out that REVELATION is when something comes into your mind / knowledge without observation, concentration or forethought. It is directly "DOWNLOADED" into your spirit by GOD. Richard Roberts sometimes calls it a "WORD OF KNOWLEDGE"

Before you become too skeptical...think about it a little.

Now let me suggest that the next time you are asked or asking WHY....you may think about
1. the why of cause or explanation OR
2. the why of purpose

I was told that the GOAL of science was to explain in order to predict to gain control. Usually when people ask WHY, they are trying to gain control. So, when the weather forecaster goes through all those charts and pictures he is trying to give information about his observations so that you can control your behaviour so as not to be hindered by the wind, rain, sun or snow in your area. Like wise, when the sixteen year old asks WHY they are not allowed to watch this movie, they are really trying to develop some theories about future movie watching experiences....and all this within the realm of reason.

Now back to Proverbs chapter three. It starts out with commandments.
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
It has been my experience that commands do not lend themselves readily to reason....they are usually the end product of someone elses reasoning....so verse 3 says I should take someone (GOD) elses reasoning and make it binding on me (bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart).

the why of purpose
My own understanding is when I want control...I am told not to lean in that direction but to TRUST GOD....HE is in CONTROL....He has a purpose but not necessarily an explanation...that I can fully understand.....I MUST TRUST and acknowledge him in every experience of my life even the seemingly unpleasant.
AMEN.

PS.This years presidential elections have taxed our human understanding to the limit. We need to ask ourselves wether the peoples choice will be God's choice. When you make your choice in the poll will it be a choice of REVELATION or HUMAN UNDERSTANDING. Pray about it now...acknowledge GOD in this...don't be just led by human reasonings or preference....it will eventually become clear to us all what it is that we have chosen.

the root of the cancer epidemic

It's been said that we have a bunch of epidemics that were not present before in human history. One you know about for sure is the obesity epidemic. But some would have us believe there is also a cancer epidemic. To be sure, some of this is because we are living longer, but should cancer be a "natural course" of a longer life? I don't think so. So what is at the root of the cancer epidemic? First and studies really do back this up 100%, the increased consumption of inflammatory Omega 6 plant-derived fats and a decrease in the Omega 3 fish oil-based fats. In almost every cancer studied fish oil has proven extremely useful.
Couple that with high sugar intakes, deceasing sleep, increasing stress with its attendant pounding of our immune system and you've got some serious health and cancer threats. Now throw in some environmental toxins, a few xenohormones from our food and bingo you've got a cancer epidemic. Now does a healthy lifestyle and lots of fish oil guarantee a cancer-free existence? Of course nothing does. But the numbers and the rates of cancer go down dramatically with increased exercise, a healthy diet and lots of fish oil. Sadly, a lot of people can't or won't do all three of these simple steps. But even one is probably a huge help. So can you swallow a few golden capsules every day? Sure you can. CLICK FOR MORE

.....He is pastor of the local Kingdom Builders Open Bible Church and his unorthodox tactics have won him the hearts of the St Catherine community's residents, young and old. I dont believe that you have to stay inside the confines of the church building in order to get people over to God. I believe in taking a more hands-on approach, he said, standing near the fence of a home next to the church. ...
...The catch was that if we won, they would all have to come to church for a month. They laughed at us and asked what would happen if we lost. I told them that they would only have to come to church for a week, Lewin joked. The community members, at first not sure what to make of the pastors challenge, decided to go along with it, if for sheer entertainment value alone.

The NBA Draft is an annual North American event in which the National Basketball Association's (NBA) thirty teams (29 in the United States and one in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) can select players who wish to join the league. These players usually come from the college level,.....

4. Jerome Jordan – Tulsa - JR Kingston, Jamaica native Jerome Jordan is one player who could see his draft stock soar with a solid junior season for the Golden Hurricane. Last year was a revelation for Jordan, as his 143 blocks broke the Conference USA record for swats in a season. He also averaged a very healthy 10.5ppg and 7.9rpg.
Jordan has only been playing basketball for a few years, so he is still very inexperienced and raw. He also needs to put more bulk on his 7’0” 235-pound frame. However, if he continues to improve like he did from his freshman to sophomore season, the sky is the limit for him. Remember – Patrick O’Bryant was a Top 10 pick!

People will see your shame -Isaiah 47:4

Should you be ashamed of yourself ?
We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against the LORD our God, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God.-Jeremiah 3:25

I had not seen my aunt for a long time.
I love her very much.
The death of my other aunt had brought us back together.
I was hoovering around in the background

while my brother worked the crowds.
I think my brother is a real socialite but he really loves the family.

So anyhow, I finally got a chance to see and greet my aunt.
And these were her first words to me after over ten years.
"Yu no shame"

So being the walking wounded soldier,
This was yet another direct hit..straight to the wound.
...but that is what soldiers do they take hits, so I retreated deeep into my wounded self and kept going.

THERE IS NO RETREAT IN THIS WAR.

So what is shame?..and why is it good for me?
I would like to say it is a part of the spiritual immune system.
If it is not working I run the risk of death

from a simple infection of evil.
Like germs, evil is everywhere..

Sin is the illness that results from the infection
If left to myself, without God, I am a dispicable, obnoxious mess.
The passage from Isaiah comes readily to mind

From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.

-Isaiah 1:6

You should be ashamed of yourself !

Why?
Because if you are not you become proud and pride destroys like the germs

And what is pride?...simlpy..it is independence from God...so wether by humility or humiliation or shame, I am assured by the chastening that he loves me when he shames me or humiliates me....so don't be afraid of the shameful memories of your past. They are to remind me of the foolishness of not acknowledging God in ALL my ways.

We all have aspects of ourselves

that we would rather not remember.

We wish some things never happened...

they make us ashamed

We must thank God for his forgiveness.

God has set us free. ....IF

1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

the minds of them which believe not

2 Corinthians 4

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

We learned this from our dad....do you remember Grace?

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

I learned about suffering as a child growing up....it was not pleasant.
I used to think a lot about my father being sick a lot. I still don't understand everything. But I understand ONE THING.... FOR SURE...GOD IS REAL and HIS BIBLE IS TRUE!!!!

7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

Weakness is something that I now understand better
THE world likes to negotiate from strength
My fathers life taught me that God works miracles through my weakness when I choose to trust in HIM with my whole being.
11 For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
We see evil and suffering all around this present world, We want to help people the only way we really can is by pointing them to Christ.
WHAT A WONDERFUL SALVATION
WHERE WE ALWAYS SEE HIS FACE
WHAT A GLORIOUS HABITATION
WHAT A QUIET RESTING PLACE!!!
13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; 14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
If you have read this far, I beseech, beg you come to HIM and STAY in HIM " O TASTE,... AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD blessed is the man tht trusteth in HIM"
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
My mom made us memorize many passages of scripture
My dad spent many hours (literally) teaching us what the scriptures meant I don't know why I chose to drift. It was a long hard road.
November of 1997 I found the way back to the fathers house.
THANK GOD FOR THE PRAYERS OF MY PARENTS.
PRAYER
Lighten our darkness
We beseech the O lord
And by thy graet mercy
defend us from the perils and dangers of this night
Through the love of Thy Son Jesus
and Lord, please bless many people with your revelations many times over through these words. - AMEN.

TODAYS NEWS - MANSFIELD — The American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio filed a lawsuit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court of Northern Ohio, claiming that Richland County Judge James DeWeese has continued posting documents in his courtroom which promote one religion over another. The ACLU won a case in 2002 against DeWeese for posting the Ten Commandments in his courtroom.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalm 33:12

There is a strong temptation to get caught up in the game of Presidential politics in america. There is no doubt in my mind that america has for a long time occupied a place on the world stage of nations as a lighthouse for God in the world. The outcome of this years election, I beleive, will show the degree to which this nation's God is the Lord.
It is clear from today's news that there are forces at work in this great ship of state who are busy punching holes in the hull. The so-called economic turmoil that we are seeing will become worse.

ARE you ready to meet GOD?
Are you getting others ready?
Do not be distracted or deceived.
Keep busy doing the works of God.

I have a song I love to sing,
Since I have been redeemed,
Of my Redeemer, Savior King,
Since I have been redeemed.

Since I have been redeemed,
Since I have been redeemed,
I will glory in His Name,
Since I have been redeemed,
I will glory in the Savior's Name.

I have a Christ Who satisfies
Since I have been redeemed,
To do His will my highest prize,
Since I have been redeemed.

Refrain
I have a witness bright and clear,
Since I have been redeemed,
Dispelling every doubt and fear,
Since I have been redeemed.

Refrain
I have a home prepared for me,
Since I have been redeemed,
Where I shall dwell eternally,
Since I have been redeemed
.
Refrain
I have a joy I can't express,
Since I have been redeemed,
All through His blood and righteousness,
Since I have been redeemed.

Refrain

What causes a healthy brain? Obviously if we can find out what helps promote a healthy brain, we can discover the secret to great health. Dr. Braverman provides this response: “God provides all the answers. He has given a system that works wonders when we try it. It includes nutrients, diet, lifestyle, combining conventional medicine with God-based healing. When we do it right, the brain can be healthier than ever before. And when the brain is healthy, the rest of the body goes with it.” Without a healthy brain, we end up with a society with heart disease and cancer running rampant. Thankfully, because of so much research on the role of a healthy brain in controlling the body’s health, conducted by Dr. Braverman and others, heart disease and cancer can often be detected much earlier than before. Prevention and early detection are the basis of his books, including Younger You and The Amazing Way to Reverse Heart Disease Naturally.
