how about you?
To boil it down to three basics, I believe in…
¤ The Inspired Book, the Bible, as my final authority (II Tim. 3:16-17)
¤ The Precious Blood of Christ shed to pay my debt of sin (I Pet. 1:18-19)
¤ The Blessed Hope of Christ’s imminent return (Tit. 2:13)
AMEN

BUT.. ...the wepons are not carnal ...the battle is not ours ...not by might nor by power but by my Spirit says the Lord. a soft answer turneth away wrath BUT.. greivious words stir up anger... AND the servant of the Lord should not strive... FOR where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. JAMES 3;16 |

Strong to meet the foe, marching on we go, While our cause we know, must prevail; Shield and banner bright, gleaming in the light, Battling for the right we ne'er can fail. -------------------------------------- And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long, Steals on the ear the distant triumph song, And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong. free speach
talk is cheap so goes the old saying... but the damage that speach can do is captured in the expression THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD Words, spoken or written can be weapons of massive destruction....why? 1. words can become flesh.... the bible says the word became flesh and lived amongst us...Jesus....the LIVING WORD..... 2. Here is another of daddy's favorites... For the word of God is quick, and powerful,... ..and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. FREE SPEECH...O YEAH learn to speak the WORDS of the bible as much as you can in your everyday communication with people at first they may say you are a weirdo.... but as the Sword of the Spirit....conviction will come to the hearts of hearers when the word is RIGHTLY DIVIDED... if any man speak let him speak |

There is a spanish word I remember from High school which means WITHOUT. The exact same word also appears in the english language and has become quite unpopular. Humans seem nowadays to more and more reject the idea of God.... but....it is HE that hath made us and not we ourselves Here are warnings... and wisdom.
1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. 2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. 3 Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance. 4 The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it. 5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet. 6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice. 7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it. 8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. 9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest. 10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul. 11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. 12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked. 13 The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lighteneth both their eyes. 14 The king that faithfully judgeth the poor, his throne shall be established for ever. 15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. 16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. 17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul. 18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. 19 A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer. 20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. 21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length. |

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- An atheist group can post "You Can Be Good Without God" ads on Bloomington city buses. An agreement announced Monday evening at the Bloomington Public Transportation Corp.'s building ends a federal lawsuit filed in May by the Indiana Atheist Bus Campaign.
The Herald-Times of Bloomington reported that the agreement allows the group to pay standard rate for the ads, which they can post as often and on as many buses as they choose....9 The Lord isn't slow to do what he promised, as some people think. Rather, he is patient for your sake. He doesn't want to destroy anyone but wants all people to have an opportunity to turn to him and change the way they think and act. _________________________ LET PETER ANSWER THEM.....
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Tail-gaiting
every example can be a bad example except one
________________________________
Yesterday we had a sub for sunday school teacher.
He has been subing on and off for a few weeks and going through
the book of Proverbs, we were in chapter five yesterday....
the sub...Charlie said the entire chapter had just one main thought.
STAY AWAY FROM SEXUAL SIN
..towards the end of the class he was trying to say how solomon was
very wise etc etc.....and how he was writing this stuff to his son
....and how solomons father was david and on about the sin and the
family problems... so anyhow..we's be struggling trying to raise
teenagers ...and panniking as we see them making bad
choices etc etc.....we raises our hanz and asks...howcum
solly was so wise and messed up so much
...and his father davy too?....
of course the sub went to stammerin a little...
and long story short.....
THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM !!
I cannot in all honesty
point anyone to my EXAMPLE.....
BTW...neither can you
or anyone else..including the preacher !
WE MUST POINT MEN TO CHRIST
THAT IS WHY HE HAD TO COME TO EARTH !!!
I finally figured out why daddy didn't focus on his personal history
He did point us to Christ and the teachings....without a doubt
this is the key.
TAILGATING or following too close is very dangerous
many crash for following others too close
says saint Peter...the same one who
was "following afar" at the crucifixion
For even hereunto were ye called:
because Christ also suffered for us,
leaving us an example,
that ye should follow his steps:

Since their killings - one in 1999, the other in 2006 - she has been spreading a message of peace, then forgiveness in her Uphams Corner community. Now her message is hope. Long a champion of creating places where teenagers can stay active and out of trouble, she has been rallying around a Salvation Army plan for a community center in her neighborhood. ____________________ The Lord continues to bless us in amazing ways! Thanks to the efforts and generosity of many we now have the necessary funds to begin building The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center of Boston. While this event has been three years in the making for the Army, it brings to fruition a 20-year vision and dream of Dudley residents. I had a good job in the telecommunication industry. I was on my way to the top...some people thought. A possible trip to Japan to study some of the new emerging technologies at the time. I left the job, studied the bible for a year or so at a church school - Fisrt Missionary Church ...I did not sign on for the theology degree but ended up teaching children in the Salvation Army orphanage...I went to live in the orphanage for a couple years then moved over to the school for blind children where I lived and served for a few more years. Later on I served as sargeant major in a small community before I finally realized the need for salvation. Read the whole sad commentary (CLICK HERE) in Jeremiah that ends with this woeful lament The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved. ------------------------------------------- Following is a verse of song I first heard when I was in the Salvation Army God is with us, God is with us, thus our brave forefathers sang. Just as we feared ..... nobody is in control.....
WHO AUTHORIZED YOU.....?
In government, authority is often used interchangeably with the term "power". However, their meanings differ: while "power" is defined as 'the ability to influence somebody to do something that (s)he could not have done' , "authority" refers to a claim of legitimacy, the justification and right to exercise that power. For example, whilst a mob has the power to punish a criminal, for example by lynching, people who believe in the rule of law consider that only a court of law to has the authority to order capital punishment.
Moral authority
Parental authority
Civil authority
Authority must be given
Authority must be accepted
Authority can be rejected
People obey authority out of respect,
while they obey power out of fear
…Authority need not be consistent or rational,
it only needs to be accepted

Psalm 46 King James Bible
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

THE YEAR OF THE HORMONE !
My Son - Born on July 15, 2009 - 7lbs 2oz Jordyn Anthony was born on July 15th. What a bundle of joy. God is so good! CONGRATULATIONS COZ ___________________________ Standing at the top of the stairway looking south the sea the carribbean gunboat beach ________________ I walked down the entire length of the upstairs classromms from Mrs Guy's office. She was now the new principal...she took over from Mrs Walker......I was in Morris Knibb house... maybe not...I can't remember the names of the other houses. ________________ Central Branch school on Slipe Pen Road across from the jewish cemetary in Kingston. I went all the way from infant school. Mrs Nicholson was in charge. I also had Ms Brown... these memories are foggy now but I do remember the "rocking boat" and the powdered milk, also the jungle jim at recess. ________________ Bulla slush came later when I was in 'big school'...so did patty an coco bred wid choclate milk. Ms Edwards was the first big school teacher then Mrs Nembhard, Mrs Tavares, Mrs Campbell in 4. It was in the fifth grade that Mrs Guy became principal... we then got Ms Perins...WOW...what a year.... that was the year I really fell in love with Valerie Gordon....it was my first taste of real victory in a fight. ________________ I was a timid child. My motto was " he who fights and runs away, will live to fight another day." but love was in the air...I must have been having the hormone start. I had started to notice Dawn Hardy the year before in Mrs Campbell's class.....but Mrs Campbell was tough..and that belt was a real stinger. Mrs Guy was even tougher and we were all fearing the worst in 5A. Then came the news Mrs Guy was going to be the new principal. We did not realize it then..but that was the major turning point in the life of this class of 1963.. ( I'm not sure of the year ) ...all hell was about to break loose. Four years of repression now at an end !....and not a moment too soon.... it could not have been timed better....it was also THE YEAR OF THE HORMONE ! ________________ 5A was the top class It was the scholarship class and this was the scholarship year. The common entrance examination was the test that would determine who would go to high school and to which high school we would go. If you were among the CHOSEN.... your name would be in the newspaper.... THE GLEANER ! ! ________________ THE TASTE OF VICTORY so back to Valerie Gordon.... the compettition was too tough... everyone was 'following' Dawn Hardy and Sandra Champagnie... I don't know when it hit me like a bolt out of the blue..... PURE LIQUID LUV......V A L E R I E G O R D O N !!!!! even now as I write I have the shivers.....stilll...... ________________ so anyhow...Ms Perins was brought in to replace Mrs Guy and Promptly lost her mind....she would sit at the desk..most of the time...talking to herself....while every man did what was right in his own eyes....every other day or so she would have a total meltdown and not show up at all...on these days...Mrs Campbell would come up the stairs occasionally when the noise would become unbearable. There were some days when Mrs Tavares would come over from 'next door'. But by and large it was every man for himself. ________________ It was in these "terrible" times that I began to loose my timidity...just a little.... mind you...I still had to go to sunday school ....not to mention GOOD NEWS CLUB which ironically was held in this same 5A classroom after school....notwithstanding... somehow I was able to 'arrange' to have my seat next to Valerie Gordon. ________________ Now it was at this time that I was also able to forge an alliance with a person who would become an invaluable partner. JF JF did not hold the interest of any of the boys that I knew of ...at this time.. to be very blunt about it....most people said she was big, fat and ugly !!... (KIDS CAN BE QUITE CRUEL) so...me JF and valerie gordon shared the same desk...i was supposed to be on the end away from valerie gordon... so you get the picture....if i could tweek jnet's self esteem a little..bingo....i could sit next to valerie.... for short periods...depending on jnet's mood swings...which were becoming more unpridictable in this YEAR OF THE HORMONES....it was a nerve wrecking "affair".... until KEITH GRANT tried to move in on my turf ! ________________ as I said before I was a very timid child... everytime I was challenged to a fight.... I would cry...they would laugh at me I got beat up so many times it was a shame everyone knew I was a coward.... but...my thinking was MURDER... if a kid picked on me I would think the only way to deal with it was to simply KILL the kid !!!....being the christian child that I had come to be that would be out of the question... this kind of frustration... drove me oft to tears ...I was a crybaby any way...but that's a whole nother story. But on this particular day....I would never know that kind of humiliating defeat EVER AGAIN....I can't remember the details but Keith Grant tried to take my girl... and I beat him to a pulp ! It was a flat out incontrovertible victory... things would never be the same... ________________ POSTSCRIPT I did ..eventually get my name in the Gleaner and went on to one of the most pretigious High schools WOLMERS ...I actually got two scholarships... Valerie Gordon....faded from memory...like a buttercup... I can't explain...maybe you can... |

doorkeeper
Psalm 84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. We sang this at devotions at Central Branch Primary School New every morning is the love Our wakening and uprising prove; Through sleep and darkness safely brought, Restored to life and power and thought. ____________ New mercies, each returning day, Hover around us while we pray; New perils past, new sins forgiven, New thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven. ____________ If, on our daily course, our mind Be set to hallow all we find, New treasures still, of countless price, God will provide for sacrifice. ____________ Old friends, old scenes, will lovelier be, As more of heaven in each we see; Some softening gleam of love and prayer Shall dawn on every cross and care. ____________ We need not bid, for cloistered cell, Our neighbor and our words farewell, Nor strive to find ourselves too high For sinful man beneath the sky. ____________ The trivial round, the common task, Will furnish all we ought to ask; Room to deny ourselves, a road To bring us daily nearer God. ____________ Seek we no more; content with these, Let present rapture, comfort, ease— As heaven shall bid them, come and go: The secret this of rest below. ____________ Only, O Lord, in Thy dear love, Fit us for perfect rest above, And help us, this and every day, To live more nearly as we pray. |

W O W !!!!
And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.
1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; 2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words. 5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

What Exactly Does Sword Do?
Hi Cousin DLM....you can be a movie maker....most hollywood films nowadays can send the wrong messages...... The power of a dramatic film for evangelistic use cannot be overstated. Years of experience have shown this to be one of the most useful tools for evangelism in the 21ST century. Sword Productions has pioneered in producing such films for fifteen twenty years. The cost is very reasonable, considering the fact that the numerical results for the out-reaching churches or groups are quite astonishing. |

Thanks for the laugh Loma
Grandma is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car. She writes: Dear Grand-daughter, The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a "Honk if you love Jesus' bumper sticker " I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting. So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper. Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed. I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn't notice that the light had changed. It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed. I found that lots of people love Jesus! While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed, ' For the love of God!' 'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!' What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus! Everyone started honking! I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people. I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love! There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach. I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air. I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something. Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii , so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back. My grandson burst out laughing. Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!! A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me. I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed. So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection. I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared. So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!! Will write again soon, Love, Grandma |
Blackie and Jonny
at least once a week for a while.....it was right across from
Centrl Police Headquarters which was on
East Queens Street. The lock-up was a high-rise
which was right opposite Mama's gate at 75 East Street.
I grew to love Mama a lot. She was getting older and sickly.
I helped clean up, emptied the chimmy and did whatever else
needed to be done, like sometimes take clothes off the line etc.
The highlight of all these visits however, was going to the bakery
around the corner on East Queens Street. As I would come out the
gate, sometimes I would hear the prisoners yelling from behind the
prison bars of the lock-up high above the roadway.
Mama would give me money to buy bulla or sweetie from "daddyman"
(Lannamans Confectionary where daddy worked). I never knew Tazman.
....Mama spoke a lot about Tazman, he died of pneumonia, I think he was
mommy's brother.....I was scared to take baths because mommy said
Tazman got pneumonia because he took a bath or something like that....O the
simplicity of the childlike mind !!!!
By far Jonny was more talked about than Tazman...or so it seemed to me, after all, Tazman was dead; Jonny was alive ....in ENGLAND. It just seemed to me
that Mamma was a lot sad because she had done a lot for a lot of people and yet
she seemed to end up alone. Jonny went to law school and was now a lawyer.
I can't recall ever meeting Jonny. Mr Black.....I don't really know what happened to him; I know that he was very good with a pick axe.....in fact I think he did cut down some branches of the very tall breadfruit tree that hung over our house at Hampton Street. Uncle Harry (Harold Johnson) was mama's brother he had a son who was a lawyer also and Aunt U (Eugene Griffiths); she was mama's sister...she had ducks in her yard and a HUGE tamarind tree....the tamerind were sweet...some had worms. Baba was mamas other sister who lived in New Market in St Elizabeth. The one time mommy ever left us was when she went to visit Baba (Emma Coley). Mommy left us a whole pot of rice and peas for sunday dinner. It was mango time and the black mango tree in the frontyard was in full glory...the rice and peas was mostly ingored that weekend...black mango ruled!!!
Blackie / Mama eventually came to live in our new house at ANTRIM.
So what is the point of this story?.....apart from me loving to tell stories.....
Well, I did learn a very powerful lesson just from observation....I don't think
mommy or daddy ever actually said anything about this.
the lesson is captured in the following.
GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)"Be careful not to do your good works in public in order to attract attention. If you do, your Father in heaven will not reward you.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Colossians 3:17
sharing a birthday present
It is always interesting to me...how GOD "makes things happen" My past pastor gave me a book some years ago it was titled "MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST" I have this book under my desk at work. I take it out some mornings before I start to work. I took it out on my birthday this week and now I share with you what I consider to be a BIRTHDAY PRESENT from the dear Captain God Bless you Sir. July 14, 2009 Suffering Afflictions and Going the Second Mile I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also —Matthew 5:39 This verse reveals the humiliation of being a Christian. In the natural realm, if a person does not hit back, it is because he is a coward. But in the spiritual realm, it is the very evidence of the Son of God in him if he does not hit back. When you are insulted, you must not only not resent it, but you must make it an opportunity to exhibit the Son of God in your life. And you cannot imitate the nature of Jesus— it is either in you or it is not. A personal insult becomes an opportunity for a saint to reveal the incredible sweetness of the Lord Jesus. The teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is not, "Do your duty," but is, in effect, "Do what is not your duty." It is not your duty to go the second mile, or to turn the other cheek, but Jesus said that if we are His disciples, we will always do these things. We will not say, "Oh well, I just can't do any more, and I've been so misrepresented and misunderstood." Every time I insist on having my own rights, I hurt the Son of God, while in fact I can prevent Jesus from being hurt if I will take the blow myself. That is the real meaning of filling "up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ . . ." ( Colossians 1:24 ). A disciple realizes that it is his Lord's honor that is at stake in his life, not his own honor. Never look for righteousness in the other person, but never cease to be righteous yourself. We are always looking for justice, yet the essence of the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is— Never look for justice, but never cease to give it. POSTSCRIPT I took it over to the person in the next cubicle. ..the next thing I know she is mouthing excitedly in spanish on her cell phone....to her mother...she then comes over to my cubicle and makes a photocopy of the page for her mom. goes back to her desk..continues the conversation....is asking the mom if she has a bible to find the passage.... Folks....I should not be talking because I am not always "witnessing" but I promise you.....the world will change when you and I change it by obedience to our Leader Jesus of Nazareth...He said we have power and we must be witnesses....a witness tells what he knows.....maybe we don't know a lot...but we MUST tell what we know......as my old friend billy used to say.... DON'T just 'keep the faith' SHARE IT!!!!! when I do my part God does the rest. thank you Captain Greg |
the lion, the bear and the eagles wings
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.Galatians 5:1 How did I develop this appetite? first curiosity...then repitition and THE HOOK !! Why is it so difficult for ME to keep the discipline of bible study/reading... yet so easy to fall into television watching or internet browsing? But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee. Ezekiel 2:8 Recently I have attended some meetings of Narcotics anonymous. The first meeting was a shocker....the language was gross. Subsequent meetings seemed to want me to blend in with the "I am so and so and I am an addict"....I found it very difficult. Let me just set the record straight... my only 'encounter' with narcotics in the classical sense is through the nurses in my family...they tell horror stories about the "locked storage" at the hospital and about nurses who "USE". Anyhow, I was challenged by two friends of mine who I first noticed because they were unusually curteous on the job. They said Good morning to each other every morning and addressed each other as Sir. They also tried to be an encouragment to others on the job....also they were very interested in reading and discussing or talking through problems. We worked together at one company then our paths crossed again on another contract and yet for a third time we meet again.... over the course of six or more years our freindship remained. One lost his wife...supposedly to "the ministry" the other was on the verge of having his family destroyed - chronic dysfunction - when his 'sponsor' pointed out to him the folly of 'running away'......so why would I allow myself to "go to the meetings." Well my interest in these 'dudes' just kept growing because all my attempts to "witness" seem to no avail because apparently their salvation was already secured in "the meetings". ....and their "witness" to me was more 'attractive' than mine !!!! TO BE CONTINUED....my wanderings in the "ROOMS" __________________ The first beast was a like a lion that had the wings of an eagle, while the second beast was a bear described as having "three ribs in the mouth of it." ______________ Awake Zion Awake Awake and trim your lamps Awake Zion Awake Awake and trim your lamps for the stars of heaven shall fall and the moon will turn into blood and the Son of man shall appear ZION AWAKE !!!!! _____________ Iran biblical Persia?....how about Sheba and Didan? Brother to Sheba and grandson to Abraham, Dedan is an important patriarch of the Arab tribes. His sons are the Asshurim (unrelated to Asshur, son of Shem), the Letushim and the Leummim. Their territories are unknown, except by indirect reference. This is true of most Arab tribes, since until recent times, they were nomadic, traveling from one trading site to another, lodging in a widespread network of oases. For centuries, territory was less important to them than trade. In the following scripture, Isaiah depicts Dedan in this very setting: "The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye traveling companies of Dedanim. "The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled. "For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war. "For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail: "And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it" (Isa. 21:13-17). ---------------------------- Me and Jo were on our way to the supermarket to get meat for dinner after church one sunday. Somehow the discussion turned to the FAMILY CHRONICLE BLOG. Quickly the topics changed an finally settled on PRIVACY. Jo thinks that people keep secrets because in his own words "they are embarrassed". I pressed him as to what he meant. Turns out we hit a mainstream of emotion. The old american dilema of free speach versus THE RIGHT TO PRIVACY....needless to say we could not solve the problem either....this seems to be an age old problem anyway....for instance my old friend and mentor Jon was sentenced to death because he would not mind his own business....of course it does seem that Jon had some other issues...lets face it he was an introvert..maybe or a recluse for sure he was a loner who wore unusual clothing and had a peculiar diet and like Jerry before him he upset the powers that be by "speaking his mind"....JESUS SAYS HE WAS A HERO Which Bible hero do you most want to be like? Brave Esther? Faithful Abraham? Wise Solomon? Before you answer, I should mention that Jesus long ago announced his choice for best hero from among all the people up until his time. Jesus said none was greater than John the Baptist.John was a Jewish prophet in the days before Jesus began ministering. Every one of the four Gospels explains John’s purpose by quoting Isaiah 40: “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming!’” (Matthew 3:3, NLT; see also Mark 1:3; Luke 3:4; John 1:23). John helped people get ready for Jesus by preaching that they should repent—turn to God—and be baptized. There’s much to admire about John. BTW...they threw Jerry into a sewage pit!!! My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city. Jeremiah 38:9 PostScript Maybe it is an attention getting thing...... The bible is full of stories that seem outlandish but do GRAB my attention from time to time personally....I will go with this over the nightly news EVERYTIME.... |
