RAMBLING

Honesty as the fabric of trust

commissioning at the marine academy versus graduation from college
when they are commissioned they are commited
they have agreed or made a promise to obey and to serve

do we agree and make promises to pay our bills ??
some promises are implicit, like in marriage, in parenting we made a promise to raise them right
all that you have been given you should give back..it is the law of the universe
sowing and reaping and the growing and fruiting in between

IDENTITY
Who you are to other people is how well you live up to their expectation
"Well done good and faithful servant...you did what was required"...expected
and what is required by GOD...
do justice, love mercy, walk
humbly before God

Moreover it is required in stewards...that a man be found faithful

COMFORT ZONES 2

Most of us love the familiar. Whether we realize it or not, we put a lot of work into ensuring that certain things in our lives remain constant. This personal "comfort zone" is the invisible, but very real area that defines the boundaries of what we know and understand. By staying within this comfort zone we reassure ourselves that we are safe. And as long as we are safely held within the walls of what we know we feel secure and confident.

As we move closer to the edges of that zone we begin to feel a bit shaky and unsure of ourselves. But those edges are where we grow. And by stretching those boundaries we increase our ability to receive.

CHOOSING and BELIEVING

"IT IS HE THAT HATH MADE US AND NOT WE OURSELVES"......yes we are living in challenging times...can you see how what we beleive will affect the choices we make.....

If we are being told that the bird flu and the swine flu could mutate to form something out of control....John banished on an island by unbelievers was given a book to write now called the Revelation of Jesus...it describes an out of control world in a time that was future to John....we should take some time to read it...there is a promise by God to bless the ones who read it....with an understanding of the times.

The 21st century will overturn many of our basic assumptions (beleifs) about economic life. The 20th century saw the end of European dominance of global politics and economics. The 21st century will see the end of American dominance .....The defining challenge of the 21st century will be to face the reality that humanity shares a common fate on a crowded planet. We have reached the beginning of the century with 6.6 billion people living in an interconnected global economy .......We are, in short, in one another's faces as never before, crowded into an interconnected society of global trade, migration, ideas and, yes, risk of pandemic diseases, terrorism, refugee movements and conflict. ......our generation can harness new technologies for clean energy, reliable food supplies, disease control and the end of extreme poverty. ......That's why the idea (beleif) that has the greatest potential to change the world is simply this: by overcoming cynicism, ending our misguided view of the world as an enduring struggle of "us" vs. "them" and instead seeking global solutions, we actually have the power to save the world for all, today and in the future. Whether we end up fighting one another or whether we work together........our fate, our common wealth, is in our hands.

"IF IN THIS LIFE WE HAVE HOPE...we are of all men most miserable" - THE WORD ...He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. Matthew 10:41 ??????
