FRIENDS
Little friends of Jesus, what a happy thought!
O what words of comfort in the Bible taught!

Little friends of Jesus, walking by His side,
With His arm around us, every step to guide.

We must love Him dearly with a constant love,
Then we’ll go and see Him in our home above.

QUIET TIME
*
Our Lord is our example of a life of self-sacrifice, and He perfectly exemplified Psalm 40:8, "I delight to do Your will, O my God . . . ." He endured tremendous personal sacrifice, yet with overflowing joy.
* If He is not the One to whom I am looking for direction and guidance, then there is no benefit in my sacrifice.
* Beware of letting your natural desires hinder your walk in love
* " Our friendship with Jesus is based on the new life He created in us, which has no resemblance or attraction to our old life but only to the life of God
* One of the cruelest ways to kill natural love is through the rejection that results from having built the love on natural desires.

"Mom, what's that awful smell in the garage?" Courtney asked when she got home from school.

"It's the trash," replied Mom. "The city garbage collectors are still on strike."

"Can't we take it away ourselves?" asked Courtney.

Mom sighed. "We'll have to if they don't get back to work soon," she said. "For now, we'll keep the kitchen door closed."

"And when I go out, I'll use the front door instead of going through the garage!" declared Courtney.

After getting a snack, Courtney sat down to watch a TV program her friends at school had told her about. They said it was the best show on TV, so she had started watching it whenever her mother was busy-she knew Mom wouldn't like the program.

HOW ABOUT YOU?
Have you allowed yourself to get used to wrong things in the TV programs you watch, the music you listen to, the books you read, or the websites you visit? Don't let your spiritual "nose" get used to trash. If it doesn't please God, turn it off!
