Uncle Sonny....playing the lotto ?

We sang this very song and tune at morning devotion (prayer time) at Wolmers.(my High School) It came back rather unexpectedly to me this morning as I thought about the present state of things in our world today....there is a whole lot of SHAKING going on..!! ...yet HIS word abides.   HEAR IT HERE (turn up your speakers) WHAT A BLESSING HIS LIFE WAS ! (read the story here)   My father (uncle Sonny) insisted on this one thing... that every person who ever lived...KNOWS the God of the Bible !   ...so adamant was he that he went out and had hundreds of little pamphlets printed to be distributed to as many people as possible.....   He just wanted to remind people to pay attention to GOD !!   Kids nowadays try to block out stuff they don't want to hear by plugging in their headphones....to their MP3 players or their gamecubes or whatever.   My nephew was lamenting on his facebook...the surprise and maybe dismay he felt as he read that Atlanta (in his home state) was dubbed the most gay town in the US.   Last night at meeting the pastor was reminding us again what Uncle Sonny was so excited about those many years ago...he quoted this WHEN THEY KNEW GOD THEY DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE HIM NEITHER WERE THEY THANKFUL...the pastor went on to describe what happens when we IGNORE GOD... you can read it for yourself (HERE)   So I got to thinking a little about this.... this is scary stuff....!! First I was wandering about the average guy on the street 1. WHEN DID HE KNOW GOD ? 2. HOW DID HE FAIL TO RECOGNISE ? 3. WHY DID HE NOT PAY ATTENTION (ignore) ? he called it luck, he said it was chance...he made it a game he gambled....and lost...was he plying with God?   SOME THINGS TO LOOK AT... Why did that guy in front of me have his front tire blow out? chance?...bad luck?...bad Karma?   Howcome your kids are in good health and your house has not been broken into? your health insurance??   ...your neighborhood?...your alarm system ???   Howcome the detroit plane on chrismas day last year was saved? homeland security?....quick thinking passengers? ...praying people?   Howcome so many earthquakes of late and all the destruction in Haiti? seismic shifts???...earth climate changes...??? global warming ?   Howcome America is the only country IN THE WORLD... that has a constitution based on the bible....and is so prosperous for so long...and has sent so many missionaries all over the world and inspite of everything else is still the main BROADCASTER...
