We live in a time where "putting down" is popular. People frequently belittle each other in jest. We routinely disregard one another with discourteous comments and actions.
Have we become an impolite society?

If the Christian is to "stand out" as a light in a dark culture, then his/her behavior is respectful and honoring of others.

The bible gives clear ideas:

1. VALUING OTHERS
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

2. CARING ABOUT OTHERS
1 Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

3. SELFLESSNESS
Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

THE EXHORTATION
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
