LEADERSHIP

Moral Uncertainty leads to moral confusion.

Political failure is due to lack of Moral Authority

Jeremiah 5:17 "They will devour your harvest and your food; They will devour your sons and your daughters; They will devour your flocks and your herds; They will devour your vines and your fig trees; They will demolish with the sword your fortified cities in which you trust.

The case is closed

We had

Political capital

Political Will

Intellectual capacity, firepower

But no Moral Authority.

"He that hath clean hands and a pure heart

Who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity

Nor sworn deceitfully"

The only question is whether or not

there is blood on our hands….

Innocent blood !!

How did we come to have blood on our hands?

Our ambition was good.

We were dreaming the big dream…

And now the nightmare….

Judgment first at the house of God

2 Corinthians 4:8 we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;

2 Corinthians 4:9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

And if the righteous are scarcely saved

Where will the ungodly stand.

"So the ungodly will not stand in the judgment

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous

God knows the way of the righteous

The way of the ungodly

Shall perish"

Amos 4:9 "I smote you with scorching wind and mildew; And the caterpillar was devouring Your many gardens and vineyards, fig trees and olive trees; Yet you have not returned to Me," declares the LORD.

It was not worth it…..

Gaining the whole world….

Loosing the soul.

If one of these little ones is made to harm

It were better that concrete shoes be used

On the offending ones.

<< Habakkuk 3 >>
GOD'S WORD ® Translation

1 A prayer of the prophet Habakkuk; according to shigionoth.

2 LORD, I have heard the report about you. LORD, I fear your work. In the course of the years, renew it. In the course of the years, reveal it. In all this chaos, remember to be merciful.

3 God comes from Teman. The Holy One comes from Mount Paran. Selah His splendor covers the heavens. His praise fills the earth.

4 His brightness is like the sunlight. Rays of light stream from his hand. That is where his power is hidden.

5 Diseases go ahead of him. Plagues follow after him.

6 He stands and shakes the earth. He casts a glance and startles the nations. The oldest mountains break apart. The ancient hills sink. The ancient paths belong to him.

7 I see trouble in the tents of Cushan. I see trembling in the tents of Midian.

8 The LORD is not angry with the rivers, is he? If you are angry with the rivers, if you are furious with the sea, why do you ride your horses, your chariots of salvation?

9 You get your bow ready for action, for the arrows you promised. Selah You split the land with rivers.

10 The mountains look at you. They writhe in pain. Floodwaters pass by. The deep ocean roars. Its waves rise up high.

11 The sun and the moon stand still. They scatter at the light of your arrows, at the bright lightning of your spear.

12 You march through the earth with fury. You trample the nations in anger.

13 You go out to save your people, to save your anointed. You crush the leader of the wicked household, stripping him bare from head to toe. Selah

14 You pierce the leader of his gang with his own arrows. His soldiers come like a violent storm to scatter me. They are arrogant like those who secretly eat up the poor.

15 You march with your horses into the sea, into the mighty raging waters.

16 I have heard, so there's trembling within me. At the report my lips quivered. A rotten feeling has entered me. I tremble where I stand. I wait for the day of trouble to come to the people who will attack us.

17 Even if the fig tree does not bloom and the vines have no grapes, even if the olive tree fails to produce and the fields yield no food, even if the sheep pen is empty and the stalls have no cattle-

18 even then, I will be happy with the LORD. I will truly find joy in God, who saves me.

19 The LORD Almighty is my strength. He makes my feet like those of a deer. He makes me walk on the mountains. For the choir director; on stringed instruments.

THE PRAYER

Breathe on me breadth of God

Till all my heart is pure

Until with Thee

I will one will

To do

And to

Endure

accepting the light

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin.
<< 1 John 1:7 >>
If the Spirit of God detects anything in you that is wrong,
He does not ask you to put it right; He asks you to accept the light,
and He will put it right. A child of the light confesses instantly and
stands bared before God;
a child of the darkness says -
"Oh, I can explain that....- CHAMBERS

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,

I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,

Palm Sunday, the final Sunday before Easter Sunday, marks the beginning of Holy Week. Christian churches distribute palms on Palm Sunday to commemorate Christ's triumphal entrance into Jerusalem, when palm branches were placed in His path, before His arrest and Crucifixion on Good Friday.

Palm Sunday falls on March 28, 2010.

The Christian believes the same thing as the Jew, except may not know as
much detail on why Rosh Hashanah exists in God's prophetic plan

The 1st day of the first month (Abib/Nisan) was the first day of the Jewish religious year. It would begin at the new moon of our March / April and coincides with the latter rains (Joel 2:23). Each month began with a new moon. (Num 10:10, 28:11, 1 Sam 20:5, Psa 81:3, Isa 66:23, Ezek 46:3, Amos 8:5, Col. 2:16.) The 1st day of Tishri, in the Fall, customarily begins the new civil year.

Today, as usual we can categorize the news in terms of biblical prophecy: 1. The world aligned against Israel: "Indonesia: Thousands attend anti-Israeli rally" 2. Russian involvement in the Middle-East: "Quartet host Russia: A new broker for Israel .... Because prophetic scriptures are found throughout the bible, it is obvious that a comprehensive, systematic approach would be useful, if not necessary, for the understanding of prophecy. A literal view of prophecy clearly ...

the strife is fierce

This was a favorite of the boys at school in morning devotion. For some unknown reason this song had the participation of most of the boys. Usually morning assembly was something that was usually endured just out of duty. Of course there was the odd day when some special announcement would spark the enthusiasm like the awarding of a trophy or the anouncment of a holiday. The one other thing that really aroused the boys was the announcement of this song. The normally bored non-participating ones would join in with a real rousing shout especially on the last line of each verse. So it is not strange that this one has stuck in my mind across the years. Today it is the verse five that came to my mind. The battle metaphor is an ever present reality for the ones who follow Christ. War is never pleasant.  Some days we lose the battle with ourselves and the world. We become discouraged. We live to 'fight' another day. The war rages on all around are signs and sounds of sorrow. We are thankful for the encouragement from the ones who took the time to write these lines.

1 For all the saints who from their labors rest,
who to the world by faith their Lord confessed,
your name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia, alleluia!

2 You were their rock, their fortress, and their might;
you, Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight,
and in the darkness drear, their one true light.
Alleluia, alleluia!

3 May all your soldiers, faithful, true, and bold,
fight as the saints who nobly fought of old,
and win with them the victor's crown of gold.
Alleluia, alleluia!

4 O blest communion, fellowship divine!
We feebly struggle, they in glory shine;
yet all are one within your great design.
Alleluia, alleluia!

5 And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long,
far off we hear the distant triumph song;
and hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia, alleluia!

6 But then there breaks a yet more glorious day:
the saints triumphant rise in bright array;
the King of glory passes on his way.
Alleluia, alleluia!

7 From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast,
through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost:
Alleluia, alleluia!

truce-breakers & promise-keepers

We have not kept our word.

There are agreements in every relationship.

Sometimes they are clearly stated and many

Times they are not.

By me having a permit to use the roads in our

Town I am agreeing to follow the rules of the

Road….yet how often do I forget as I speed to

Work trying to make up time for a late start.

We go to schools at different stages in our lives

To learn first the basic rules of communicating,

(reading, writing and speaking) then we learn the

Rules of fair trading and calculating (adding, etc)

I will never forget my early years in arithmetic.

When I could not get the concepts, my teacher used

The words TAKE AWAY to help me understand

The minus sign….which brings me to freedoms.

We often forget that the freedoms we enjoy

In our communities are based on our

Agreement to follow the rules.

Sports can be a good metaphor or picture

Of life in general. Whenever there is a rule

Broken there is a penalty.

Rules are broken sometimes without intention.

At other times there is full intention. Whatever

The reason the penalty is due.

Our society is set up so that

We often loose our freedom as a penalty

For breaking a rule. Breaking the rule is

Really not sticking to the agreement.

WE DID NOT KEEP OUR WORD.

So….what's the big deal?

Well, why didn't I keep my end of the bargain?

Why didn't I keep my word?

rambling.....Judgement !! ??

the book of judges - rough stuff !!!!

Do you mind being judged? Do you believe that you are accurately judged most of the time or poorly misunderstood? How does this affect your future judgments?

hardening of the arteries...why was john in the wilderness, why stone the prophets...judgement is a HARD thing!!

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100219043823AAeos6p

We judge our friends and lovers as being worthy of friendship and love don't we?

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I'm making progress.

Love and blessings

unconscious unreality

The penalty of sin is confirmation in sin.
It is not only God who punishes for sin;
sin confirms itself in the sinner and gives
back full pay. No struggling nor praying
will enable you to stop doing some things,
and the penalty of sin is that gradually you
get used to it and do not know that it is sin

when I am weak......

Lord, lift me up and let me stand
By faith, on heaven's table-land,
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

I want to scale the utmost height,
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I'll pray, till heaven I've found,
Lord, lead me on to higher ground!

then....am I strong !!!

Not many of us are living at our best,

We linger in the low because we are afraid to climb the mountains.

The steep and ruggedness discourage us, so we stay in the midst

of the valls and never learn the mysteries of the hills,

We do not know what is lost by our self-indulgence,

what glory awaits if we only have the courage to climb,

or what blessings we will find if we only

ascend the mountains of God! J.R.M.

I'm pressing on the upward way,
New heights I'm gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Tho' some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim is higher ground.

I want to live above the world,
Though Satan's darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.

living Eulogies

A eulogy (from εὐλογία, eulogia, Classical Greek for "good words")

******************

A living eulogy marks our appreciation or gratitude for someone who has contributed to the quality of our lives.

"How many times have you regretted NOT telling or showing a person how much they meant to you?

Perhaps you felt too shy and awkward. Perhaps the moment never naturally arose or maybe you felt the person you wanted to share your feelings with wasn't open to receiving them. And then they're gone, sometimes out of your life forever. Now instead of telling them directly you tell the people who have gathered....." (QUOTES from Susan)

******************

DID YOU KNOW....that

Eulogies are usually delivered by a family member or a close family friend in the case of a deceased person. For a living eulogy given in such cases as a retirement, a senior colleague could perhaps deliver it. On occasions eulogies are given to those who are severely ill or elderly in order to express words of love and gratitude before they pass away. (WIKI)

Sandpaper People - the Ones Who Rub You the Wrong Way

Everybody deals with them—people who rub you the wrong way, often leaving abrasions behind!

Mary Southerland goes beyond just giving good advice on how to handle tough relationships. Using examples from her own painful experiences, a readily applicable format—and a dusting of humor and intriguing “Sandpaper Facts” throughout—she frames key principles of relating to rub–you–the–wrong–way types such as...

  • be loving—recognize their worth
  • be humble—choose against pride
  • be encouraging—become their cheerleader
  • be strong—develop endurance
  • be committed—refuse to walk away

Readers will see how God, using the difficult people in their lives, is reshaping them into men and women who can express His forgiveness, mercy, and tender affection.

the powers

there is no misfortune or bad luck or 'renegade power'

In our natural human state we each presume that we are the centre of the universe. Our needs, our comfort, our wants and desires and opinions and …. We have a name for that. We call it pride. And God's Word says that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
- Berni Dymet

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995) - 1 Peter 3:22
Christ has gone to heaven where he has the highest position that God gives. Angels, rulers, and powers have been placed under his authority.

2 Chronicles 33:12 When he was in distress, he entreated the LORD his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.
2 Chronicles 33:19 His prayer also and how God was entreated by him, and all his sin, his unfaithfulness, and the sites on which he built high places and erected the Asherim and the carved images, before he humbled himself, behold, they are written in the records of the Hozai.

Romans 13:1
Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same;

The roles and the real

I remember the high school chemistry lab

we were given an unknown substance

we were to find out what it was.

we had to heat it somtimes

to see at what point it would boil or melt

we added acid to it to see if it gave off

a bad smelling gas

we put it in water to see if

it would disolve

on trial

the evidence

is being examined

Pretense is thinking that I can be good

I must get up every day knowing

that no goodness can originate

from me

if any goodness is found I must quickly

point to the source...it can never come

from me only through me

from God

EVERY GOOD...comes from HIM

to think otherwise is to become proud

and it is this pride that is ALL SIN

The real is established by testing (TRIAL)

Jesus said I cannot be His disciple unless

I give up everything….but I did that last year !!

Daily, no... minutely, I must relinquish

In simple trust like those who heard

Beside the crystal sea

The gracious calling of our Lord

Let us like them without a word

Rise up and follow Thee

So who do men say I am?

What is my identity?

What have they proven me to be?

Is that reality?

I can never find comfort in a better

Knowledge of myself….what you see

Is what you get !! ugly !!!

Like the apostle I must know HIM

My identity becomes secondary…

Looking to HIM

at HIM

I will become

Transformed

AMEN

Dear friends, I had intended to write to you about the salvation we share. But something has come up. It demands that I write to you and encourage you to continue your fight for the Christian faith that was entrusted to God's holy people once for all time. Jude 1:3

The Jews have a school they call  Yeshiva. There young men wrestle with ideas among themselves. I like that. They are not afraid to fight with thought in the effort to arrive at truth. How about some real wrestling between us? Life is too serious for us to be side-tracked with anything else beside the truth which sets us free."

Jewish tradition holds that students should sit while learning from a master. The word yeshiva, meaning "sitting," therefore came to be applied to the activity of learning in class, and hence to a learning "session."

SANITY

Sanity is (Definition: mental health; soundness of judgment ) http://thesaurus.com/browse/sanity

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. ELiot

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:3

It turns out that she was not in fact delusional and the
information she was passing on was 100% accurate.

I have more than a passing interest in Mental Health issues
and mental health professionals. I happen to think that there
is a blurring of lines between fantasy, facts and faith that puts
much power in the hands of pastors, prosecutors
and those practicing psychiatric medicine.

What exactly is sanity anyway?
Who gets to decide if you are insane?

Have you been acting a little 'loopy' of late?

Are your ideas about 'reality' a little out of 'the main stream'.

For instance...have you been 'talking to God' much lately?

Most people would rather not think
or talk about such matters...
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
DOES IT REALLY MATTER?

In looking at the large numbers of people who do not vote,
and at evidence that other forms of political participation
have languished, many political scientists find reason for
concern about the health of the American political system.
They argue that Americans have become cynical about
politics and distrustful of government, and a few contend
that this distrust stems from the failure of political parties
to attract and include the large numbers of new voters.
These observers warn that such trends
could lead to the breakdown of democracy.

a. The selfish are insane: as they are ruled by the tyranny
of their emotions, which distorts their understanding. Right
is what is they like, wrong is what they do not like, which of
course changes with circumstances. If a murder realizes
private profit it is right; if it uncovers a threat to their survival,
it is wrong. But they cannot form the understanding that
something has a value independent of their own interests,
which undermines their understanding of the world. The
selfish cannot form a clear and constant understanding.

b. The unselfish are sane: as they are ruled by a fixed set of
values which is more important than themselves and therefore
independent of their feelings. This moral code allows them to
resist the tyranny of their emotions and form
a stable understanding of the world.

WHY WE KNOW....
http://www.baptistpillar.com/bd0599.htm

Matthew 24:22 "Unless those days had been cut short,
no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the
elect those days will be cut short.

Luke 18:7 now, will not God bring about justice for
His elect who cry to Him day and night,
and will He delay long over them?
John 4:48 So Jesus said to him, "Unless you
people see signs and wonders,
you simply will not believe."

keeping on

It is easier to serve God without a vision,
easier to work for God without a call,
because then you are not bothered by what
God requires; common sense is your guide.
- Oswald Chambers

Lead on, O King eternal,
Till sin's fierce war shall cease,
And holiness shall whisper
The sweet amen of peace.
For not with swords' loud clashing,
Nor roll of stirring drums;
With deeds of love and mercy
The heavenly kingdom comes
.

Never consider whether
you are of use;
but ever consider
that you are not
your own but His.

TODAY' utmost

THE PRAYER
O let me feel Thee near me!
The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle,
the tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me,
around me and within;
But Jesus, draw Thou nearer,
and shield my soul from sin.
AMEN
