limitlessness - the human predicament
By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR and EILEEN SULLIVAN, Associated Press - 4 28 09 The worst case scenario, according to ===================== Sam Fulwood III Sam Fulwood Iii – Fri Apr 24, 5:06 am ET http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/21522.html His personal charisma is a nonverbal form of communication, sending seemingly conflicting messages: the need for radical and sacrificial change, yet the reassurance to Americans that he's as sane and stable as the guy in the next barber's chair, said Roger Wilkins, who recently retired as a history professor at "Hipness is a way of presenting to the world that you know what's going on and that you've got things under control," said Wilkins, who served in the Johnson administration and has had up-close dealings with every president since Kennedy. "For Obama, his hipness exudes power. He just keeps on moving, no matter what comes his way, and he doesn't lose it. That's being hip — and I don't see any contemporary public figures whom I would think of as hip." ================= Claims to authority are made in virtually every area of social life, and, in a remarkably high proportion of cases, the claims are accepted and acquiesced in by those over whom they are made. Parents claim the right to be obeyed by their children; husbands until quite recently claimed the right to be obeyed by their wives; popes claim the right to be obeyed by the laity and clergy; and of course, most notably, virtually all existing governments claim the right to be obeyed by their subjects. by Robert Paul Wolff, ============== Another busy day at the White House: First Lady Michelle Obama hosted students from The weather was so nice in fact, that, after President Obama received his economic briefing and met with Defense Secretary Robert Gates in the Oval Office, the POTUS and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton decided to hold their 4:15 meeting out behind the White House--on the swing set installed for the Obama girls in March...... Striding out from the West Wing, the two seemed thick as thieves—smiling, Secretary Clinton casually swung her leg over the bench on the east side of the playground, and the president grinned and waved to gawking reporters and staff as he sat down across from her. ( http://www.theroot.com/blogs/browntable/exclusive-pic-clinton-and-obama-sandbox-again ) ============== The manipulative approach to politics is of course not a discovery of the nineteen-fifties, or even the twentieth century. Napoleon set up a press bureau that he called, perhaps in a playful moment, his Bureau of Public Opinion. Its function was to manufacture political trends to order. Machiavelli was another who made some original contributions to the thinking in this field. Manipulation of the people by a tyrant with a controlled society is a fairly simple matter, and he can be heavy-handed or light-handed about it, to taste. The real challenge comes in dealing effectively with citizens of a free society who can vote you out of office, or spurn your solicitation for their support, if they are so minded. an unexpected cost
The Great Prophet Elijah was sent by God to tell Ahab that no rain would fall in Israel for 42 months. With great confidence this man who had heard from God goes before the wicked king, and makes this pronunciation. He declares war on the enemy, with God in his corner, makes some bold statements, and God backs him up. Though his words were accurate, Elijah had no idea the drought he predicted would severely affect his own life. For a little while, he drank from the brook Cherith, unaffected by his own declaration, but soon even that dried up and Elijah was suffering the consequences of his own victory! The incredible declaration took only a few minutes, but Elijah spent the next 3 and a half years waiting for rain. In every Christian's Life are times of victory and defeat. What happens however when the victory actually comes at an unexpected cost? Elijah never considered that the judgment of God for Ahab would even effect his own life. In the day that we live in, are we as Christians prepared for the judgments God may have for this generation? Will these judgments effect our own lives? Is it possible that some Christians could lose their faith in God when their own life is touched by God's dealings with the ungodly? |

This was sent to me and I thought someone may need to be reminded today. So I'm forwarding a copy to you!! 'For He has said, I will never leave you or forsake you.' Hebrews 13:5 May your troubled heart find peace and comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone.May God's presence ease your trembling spirit and give you rest.He knows how you feel.He is ever aware of your circumstances and ready to be your strength, your grace and your peace. He is there to cast sunlight into all your darkened shadows, to send encouragement through the love of friends and family, and to replace your weariness with new hope. God is your stronghold, and with Him as your guide, you need never be afraid. No circumstances can block His love.No grief is too hard for Him to bear.No task is too difficult for Him to complete. When what you are feeling is simply too deep for words and nothing anyone does or says can provide you with the relief you need,God understands. He is your provider ~today, tomorrow, and always. And He loves=2 0you.Cast all your cares on Him...and believe!! ~ Linda E. movies this week
PERSONAL GLIMPSES - a movie srcipt...maybe Catholics. I know three catholics It seems to me that catholics are good people. When I was growing up I had a very good friend who used to watch movies. I never watched too many movies growing up. In my teen years it was fascinating to have a friend who understood life from the movies. We used to spend hours on the phone at night talking. I had to listen to many stories from the movies that my best friend watched. My friend used to tell me some things that have stuck in my mind across the years. For example this friend told me that it was possible to really love only once. Now that I look back it occurs to me that my friend may have been catholic. That's so weird, because it was not true then, but the nuns at the high school had some influence. Then I got a job at a catholic school. Later in life, much later, several sins and confessions later. I almost married a catholic girl. I missed the chance, my fellows didn't. So what is there to learn from catholics that's so important? I think one of my favorite cousins was raised catholic. It looks sometimes like he has given up the faith, but I think that deep down he is still a beleiver. New England where I live is full of them. Catholics Why is it that the homosexual issue became a full blown issue in the catholic church? My boss was the only one in the workplace this year who I saw with the mark on his forehead on ash wednesday. He is returning on monday from a week vacation. My boss is a tough cookie. Pray for me. Bob Marley lives on. We were watching the movie Marley and Me (mitzie & me) - a blocbuster "HOT NEW RELEASE" I know that it perhaps is supposed to be about the love of pets. I didn't watch it all the way through. I didn't see the part about when they named the dog Marley. Mitzie told me they were thinking about Bob Marley. They decided against Bob and called the dog Marley instead. There was one line in the movie that stuck with me. The dog's owner was commenting on why a dog was such a great companion. He said the dog doesn't care who you are or what you do, the dog will love you anyway. People don't do that. My remark was that they are supposed to. Most people nowadays don't agree with me. They agree with Marley's owner. Everyone nowadays has a dog. I really think the movie is also about death and the way we can 'sanitize' it. The other movie that comes to mind is the Beverly Hill Chuiwawa (sp). We had a dog growing up that was much like Marley. The dog's name was Daisy. So contrary to what these children think, I do know about this movie. This may be as good a place as any to mention my late attorney cousin. God bless him and his family. Please keep praying for them, I know someone out there who beleives in prayer has been praying with me. I think my cousin Peter, in New York,.....SAINT PETER I will call him. He is the only person to my knowledge who ever told me to my face that he thought that I was an angel !!!.....but saint pete seems to be turning his life around..I hear that he has gone back into the classroom HE IS A REAL TEACHER a qualified spanish teacher.... and I might add a preacher and a healer...he doesn't fully realise it yet...If you keep praying, before long you will be coming back to this BLOG to read about the HEALING MIRACLES that will come out of a life TRANSFORMED. Last year was a critical turning point. I / We lost two of my father's best cousins. I had also come to love them. Aunt Tiny and Cousin Dudley. At Aunt Tiny's funeral I became RECONNECTED to the family through cousin G and cousin G nette, the one cosin Dudley's sister, the other Aunt Tiny's daughter. Without them realizing I have been inspired in a new way by their testimonies. I still dream of one day telling the stories....through modern media. I like television production. I think I like it as a story-telling tool. Russell Fritz was the first one who gave me the opportunity to see the inside of a television production studio. He let me write scripts for a JBC news production called helping hands. We later shot the video which was produced and aired on national Television. Monica went to school and majored in television prodution. There were dreams lost. So now these movies have snippets of life 'replayed'. Like the owner of the dog in Marley and Me....the old art that my best friend taught me, learning important life lessons through the stories of movies. Richard McCaw made me realize that I was not just a musician but I also had the gift to be a writer...that was back in my teens. My local church group did not promote that idea - me as a musician - but I beleived it.... even though it seemed that I was not chosen to sing solos or celebrated as chuch organist...I never complain about my parents but in retrospect I think they may have sent the wrong child to music lessons - enough said !! This owner of the dog Marley was a writer. I saw how that my writings can play a healing role in my families. Even when he moved on from his job as a columnist in Florida, they were now living in Pennsylvania (sp) his wife used to read the scrapbook with his columns and got strength to cope with issues....his kid even read the scrapbook (BLOG) .....don't kid yourself they said...hint hint.... ....(My brother-in-law thought I should publish my ramblings...his daughter thinks they are alredy published) My father was a writer; he made copious notes...everywhere....they were never published, never read I don't think...on second thought... I think he was just writing down most of the things that he talked about and lived ...so yes, his writings were "living epistles seen and read" by the people who knew him. He died on 4/21/06 ...... these, my ramblings or jottings, my writing is as good a memorial as any. I love my dad. "Black women have to be strong" a line from the TD JAKES movie 'Not easily Broken' You should go out and GET THEM AT BLOCKBUSTER..these movies MARLEY & ME NOT EASILY BROKEN DOUBT Donald Miller was the little black catholic shoolboy in the blockbuster "HOT NEW RELEASE" entitled "Doubt". I have a very good catholic friend who until this very day insists on calling me Donald. So you can imagine the (tongue in cheek) trauma that I felt watching this movie. It was no trauma, in fact it was quite a pleasant reparte. BTW I don't really know what a REPARTE is. I just threw that in for want of a good word...it seemed OK..I will look it up later. and edit it out if need be. The movie "DOUBT" kind of pulled together all my latent catholicity. My catholic principal and best friend Tom. My AMN My priest and writer friend Harvey Cox My (closet catholic) sister-in-law who was in the crusades (against baptists) My cousin who has the same birthday as mine and maybe, an ex irish catholic bride to be. (prayer wariors add this to your list) NOT EASILY BROKEN is a movie that has TD JAKES in it. "Women started to become their own heroes" is a line from the movie "The world took away a man's reason for being a man" another line for the move. I like TD JAKES. He is right up there with the rest of my heroes. ADOLPHUS MARTIN (my dad) BUCKMINSTER FULLER (mentor - 'the critical path') EN BLYTHE (pastor) MICHAEL STODDARD (pastor) ALVIN TOFFLER (social commentator - 'future shock & the 3rd wave') RICHARD McCAW (teacher) ORAL ROBERTS (healer) RUSSELL FRITZ (ex CIA & Salvation Army officer) VINCENT GRAY (grand-dad) HARVEY COX (catholic father -'the secular city') BILLY GRAHAM (preacher) MICHAEL BATES (teacher) "The truth of the matter, bishop is that I feel like I am just visiting this marriage" said David as they sat in couselling before the pastor who married them. FROM 'NOT EASILY BROKEN' coming soon to a blog post near you..."I HAD A QUARREL WITH THE KID" I destroyed his lifeline...broke his cell phone into so many little pieces. So I got to thinking about my father and his strategies for handling the terrible teens.... I don't think Vinette approves of me anymore. She was Sister James in the movie 'doubt'....my big sister wanted to play the part of the Principal....but was turned down....her husband however, did get chosen to play the priest but turned it down. "A car doesn't know why it is a car, only the manufacturer knows" from 'Not easily Broken' by TD Catholics may be lucky in that they get to have regular confessions with a real confessor. Others of us non-catholics have to be creative, and talk to our pets or our blogs or understand our mistakes through the movies.....but nothing comes even close to real prayer. NOW THIS: (from a song memorized in my teen years from morning prayers at Wolmers Boys High School) Prayer is the souls sincere desire Uttered or unexpressed The motion of a hidden fire That trembles in the breast Prayer is the simplest form of speech That infant lips can try Prayer the sublimest strains that reach The Majesty on high O thou by whom we come to God The Life, the Truth, the Way; Your feet the path of prayer hath trod LORD, teach us how to pray. hid from our eyes
me: He is better than me, I'm gonna let him do it GOD : What do you mean he is better than you? me: he sharper, younger and everybody likes him. GOD: well what I want you to do, NOBODY else can do it...I made YOU specially just for this assignment....so get cracking and forget about "the better than me" whining. ********************** 1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise, in light inaccessible hid from our eyes, most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days, almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise. 2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light, nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might; thy justice like mountains high soaring above thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love. 3. To all, life thou givest, to both great and small; in all life thou livest, the true life of all; we blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree, and wither and perish, but naught changeth thee. 4. Thou reignest in glory; thou dwellest in light; thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight; all laud we would render: O help us to see 'tis only the splendor of light hideth thee. *****************
1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. 2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. 5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. 7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; 10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. 13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. 17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. |
where are your friends now ?

what is judgement? torture?
When George W. Bush was running for President, Christians hoped that having a devout man in the White House would lead to more a more moral government.. But Bush wasn't the most interesting test of the theory. Though his faith was important to him, it never had nearly the depth of another member of the team -- John Ashcroft, the Attorney General. Devoutly religious, Ashcroft led daily Bible studies as Attorney General. In deference to the Bible, he banned the word "pride" form his official correspondence. "I don't particularly care if I do what's right in the sight of men," he has said. "The important thing is for me to do right in God's sight...The verdict of history is inconsequential; the verdict of eternity is what counts." READ MORE ========================= Is faith reasonable? ================== Barak Obama quotes ONE "And although government will play a crucial role in bringing about the changes we need, more money and programs alone will not get us where we need to go. Each of us, in our own lives, will have to accept responsibility - for instilling an ethic of achievement in our children, for adapting to a more competitive economy, for strengthening our communities, and sharing some measure of sacrifice. So let us begin. Let us begin this hard work together. Let us transform this nation." - TWO "The final thing that I think the Moses generation teaches us is to remind ourselves that we do what we do because God is with us. You know, when Moses was first called to lead people out to the Promised Land…the Lord said I will be with you. Throw down that rod. Pick it back up. I'll show you what to do. The same thing happened with the Joshua generation. Joshua said, you know, I'm scared. I'm not sure that I am up to the challenge. The Lord said to him, every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon, I have given you. Be strong and have courage, for I am with you wherever you go. Be strong and have courage. It's a prayer for a journey. - READ OBAMA on FAITH |

emotional pain
“He was a good father,” Beatty said. “He was the kind of man you want as a neighbor.”
Chief Financial Officer David Kellermann, 41, was found dead early today in the basement of his home in a Washington suburb, police said.
There were no signs of foul play, and the death is under investigation, Fairfax County, Virginia, Police Officer Shelley Broderick said. She said early reports from others in the department indicated Kellermann’s wife reported a suicide. The medical examiner’s office said it’s conducting an autopsy, and the results may be released as soon as today
THE STORY
=======================
DESPAIR
was his house going into foreclosure?
was his wife cheating on him?
did his children "dis" him?
how about his co-workers? were they slighting him?
did he feel rejected?
conldn't pay his bills?
what does emotional hurt look like on the outside?
the matter of mental health and emotional well-being is becoming a re-curing theme.
if for instance one or both parents have an emotional defect, will the children come to accept the "flaw"as normal?
how do these things get detected....or cured?
are we destined to keep passing our unwholsomeness from generation to generation?
there are more questions than answers?
did this guy really commit suicide?
he had a goood job
from all accounts the neighbors seemed to think they were an ok family.
what could have possible gone so wrong to make him kill himself?
============================
Suicide is not a new idea. The Bible records seven suicides.
Abimelech - Judges 9:52-54 Abimelech lacked personal identity.
Samson - Judges 16:25-30 Samson died for a cause he believed in and for revenge.
Saul - 1 Samuel 31:4 Saul was stressed out, unable to live up to certain expectations; felt rejected and a failure
Saul's armor-bearer- 1 Samuel 31:5 Impulse, he wanted to die with his boss. 40% of teenage suicide is impulse.
Ahithophel - 2 Samuel 17:23 Ahithophel was bitter because his advice was not followed.
Zimri- 1 Kings 16:15-20 Rebellion; Zimri had a problem with authority.
Judas - Matthew 27:3-5 Depressed, Judas felt trapped by materialism and guilt

CHEATING - as a way out of emotional distress
How does an affair start? Where is the initial chemical reaction?
Dave: An affair starts – this is a very precise point – when both parties admit to having mutual feelings for the other person. They might never have touched each other, they might never have been inappropriate in any way, but if they share verbally or in e-mail or written form the fact that they have feelings for the other person, an affair is underway because from that point on everything is supercharged – the sight of that person, hearing that individual's voice, getting an e-mail from them, smelling the perfume or cologne they wear – it's all heightened. It's just like, whooom, and they begin to look forward to it, because they know this person has an affinity for them that's unique.
At that point, though, an affair often can last for a number of months, and I've had them go on even years before it becomes erotic or becomes wrong. READ MORE

GAMECHANGERS
1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! 2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. 3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. 4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. 5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. 6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. ************ I can not get it out of my mind, in the run up to the last presidential election, General Colin Powell endorsed President Barak Obama and called him a TRANSFORMATIONAL person. I do believe that there is a lot to be learned from our president….watch him prayerfully God will show you….be willing to learn….there's a whole lot o' teaching goin' on !!! IDENTITY - preaching, teaching & healing I am first and foremost a sinner My friend asked me today; "did you know I am bipolar?" Another discussion I had last night "she is divorcing him because he is gay!" Then there was this other person who the doctor told that he was a diabetic. CAN YOU SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING? The catholics talk about formation and the lutherans catechize. ...the term “formation” might have sounded excessively anthropocentric. Formation has a developmental and somewhat Aristotelian, connoting the cultivation of good habits, the shaping of conscience, the inculcation of virtue. QUOTE from a panel discussion entitled "The Formation of the Religious Conscience by Stephen J. Pope at Boston College - CLICK HERE The psychologists talk about personality and identity and the process of socialization. This was an epiphany for me - a moment in time when you know God. Game-changers....for the sports fans. What I got a chance to see was an attitude formation...the attitude of a young female...about men. Men have gotten a hard wrap....but the truth must be told...else our youth will develop all kinds of warped ideas. I do beleive the bible has the answers Be not confromed to this world, says Be transformed by the renewing of you mind - this must be the modern word or idea of INFORMATION... so here we are smack in the middle of the INFORMATION AGE. ..and who is doing the informing? TEACHERS, PREACHERS and HEALERS....still...just like bible times. But let us take a minute to identify these GAMECHANGERS. for example In his book The disappearance of childhood Neil Postman Argues that the intrusion of television into every home introduces children too early to adult concepts and activities and subverts their ability to think abstractly, and the very concept of childhood is being destroyed.
MORE to come...but think about it in the meanwhile wether you like it or not you are teaching; you are a teacher, a healer and a preacher.....so get on with it and for GOD's sake.....DO IT RIGHT !!

more mental health issues
DID YOU PRAY FOR YOUR PRESIDENT TODAY??? Don't forget...you promised.... 3 I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day when I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience as my ancestors (Mammy Webb and Daddy**) did. 4 I remember your tears and want to see you so that I can be filled with happiness. 5 I'm reminded of how sincere your faith is. That faith first lived in your grandmother ----(**) and your ----(**). I'm convinced that it also lives in you.(stir it up Peter, Faith) 6 You received a gift from God when I placed my hands on you to ordain you. Now I'm reminding you to fan that gift into flames. 7 God DID NOT give us a cowardly spirit but a spirit of power, love, and good judgment. (A SOUND MIND - KJV) ================ Before I make the main point, another observation - Mental health is becoming a matter of concern as the economy continues to slide. or whatever.... Have you noticed the increase in criminal behaviour that is being blamed on mental health? I do beleive that what the "professionals" now refer to as the domain of mental health used to be taken care of mostly by pastors and church people. Teaching, preaching and healing is how the bible describes what has come to be the modern healthcare industry. CLICK HERE FOR MORE ================ The gunman who hijacked a chartered flight at the Montego Bay Airport in St James is now in police custody. (more prison ministry - I was in prison, and you visited me.'Matthew 25:36) He has been identified as Stephen Fray. The hijacker identified as a Jamaican man in his early 20s is said to be mentally ill. The five crew members who were left on board have been released. The police say no one was hurt. 169 passengers, who were also on board, were released earlier. ================ |

can you see it???
Most of the comming attractions are just more distractions - STAY FOCUSED *** sobering perspectives *** 1 John 5 :18 We know that whoever is born of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not. 19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness. 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. AmenHebrews 11 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. :32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. Risen indeed
Easter is a reminder that death is powerless to the beleiver in the ressurection of Jesus. And yet many today don't care about the bible or Jesus. A recent newsweek article suggests that americans seem no longer interested in this particular religion...but has interest in religion gone away? THE DECLINE & FALL of CHRISTIAN AMERICA - Newsweek The ACLJ is undergoing a campaign that suggests that while traditional christians have "departed from the faith" muslims are gaining converts in droves. Muslims seem to be the new champions of the traditional moral causes that used to be the domain of the christian faithful. In the absence of the christian voices; clerics, imams and mulahs are taking the unpopular stand against homosexuality in particular and the hypersexed american culture in general. Jesus at the judgement, charges the condemned ones with not visiting him when he was in prison. Chuck Colson and the prison fellowship have a successful mission from this vision. The muslims are in the prisons, it seems to be their prime recruiting ground. I came across a troubling statistic. America although a country championing the rule of law, America has the largest prison population in the world....the common beleif is that you cannot legilate morality...not so in Islam. A news item caught my attention. Someone inside the Obama administration has implemented a program to introduce "sharia economics" into the banking system. Before I make the main point, another observation - Mental health is becoming a matter of concern as the economy continues to slide. Have you noticed the increase in senseless killings by people who have lost their jobs? These people had guns. I do beleive that what the "professionals" now refer to as the domain of mental health used to be taken care of mostly by pastors and church people. Teaching, preaching and healing is how the bible describes what has come to be the modern healthcare industry. A breif look at the history of education in america will quickly show that ALL the major universities were started as "church schools". One insightful politician recently suggested that there is a choice that needs to be made when spending public funds. He said that if we were spending more on educating our population about our laws we would not need to spend so much on prisons. The ultimate edge is Tony Robins most recent million-dollar-seller. Tony is very convincing, he observes that most leaders make seemingly irrational choices that move them to the top of their feild. If Tony is right the christian will regain the the feild only by his/her faith. While going over the easter story I came across this: "their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they beleived them not." this is a direct quote from Luke (24:11) Biblical Chritianity is ALWAYS CONFRONTATIONAL. Something you believe will make you unpopular. Take a stand anyhow! Tell the truths of the bible. Tell them alot, Tell them often, Tell them when you are made fun of. Tell them when you are slighted Tell them even if you are ignored Tell them to your boss Tell them to your family Just tell them, keep telling them. You will pay a high price... but there is a higher price for silence! HE IS RISEN INDEED AMEN.
