here comes the sun

The sun is the most powerful force in our solar system.

And, it is also potentially the most deadly.  Recently,
there has been growing excitement that the next
"solar maximum" could render power grids,
the Internet and telecommunications networks
inoperable, and could even destroy modern
civilization as we know it. - By Wyatt Ciesielka

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right
....REALLY !!  ???
we are not so sure now !!!

WARNING
Matthew 24:43 "But be sure of this,
that if the head of the house had known
at what time of the night the thief was coming,
he would have been on the alert and would
not have allowed his house to be broken into.

Leviticus 26:19 warns that if the nations do not turn

back to God in heartfelt repentance, then, at the end

of this age, He will afflict the earth. Revelation 16:8-9

specifically reveals that during the Day of the Lord,

the fourth bowl judgment will bring unbearable

scorching heat and "fire" from the sun that will

sear the land and "scorch men with fire"!

Only God knows the exact timing of end-time events

(Mark 13:32), but could conditions be aligning to fulfill

these ancient prophecies?  Could the next solar

maximum cause massive, international utility and

communications disruption, and set the stage for

both the scorching heat that preludes the Day of

the Lord and then the heat and solar fire

that accompanies the fourth bowl judgment?

yielded ! - flattery and flattering

FLATTERY - over speaking

with intent to mis-lead

we raised our own chickens.

I very much enjoyed the job of taking

care. I fed them, gave them water...

even cleaning the coops was not a problem!

getting the eggs...I could endure the pecking

even the scratches; the noise? no bother at all !

I loved eating chicken

chicken soup...awesome !

fried...baked...anyway, always a treat.

So what's the problem?

I could not kill the chickens.

breaking the neck then waiting for all

the fluttering to stop...not a pleasant task

AT ALL....so I would invariably leave the scene

returning later to find out.....

is the chicken dead?

then came the plucking and cleaning.

you get the picture....

between the time

of my conversion and the present

there is a whole lot of fluttering

going on.

Lord Jesus, let nothing unholy remain,

Apply Thine own blood and extract ev'ry stain;

To get this blest cleansing, I all things forego—

Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

The Mentor who models

Understanding the difference between Greek thinking and Hebrew thinking.

Greeks tended to categorize things intellectually. One example is the human personality. Man is a whole, not divided into parts, body soul, and spirit, although all three exist. These are not separate entities, but integrated parts of a whole. Heb 4:12 says that the Word can divide soul from spirit etc.

I've found that the Word can deliver us when our emotions get so tangled up with our spirits that we cannot really worship, because we are so hurt by other people.

Until the Word sets us free to forgive, we are bound in our spirits by the hurts in our emotions. A friend of mine has not come to worship for the last 2 weeks because he says he is so depressed he cannot leave his house. He says it's so bad he doesn't mind if he dies anytime. I told him only the devil talks about death. I quoted Jesus, "I am come that they might have life and more abundantly." He is in such bondage.

Years ago I walked around with quite a list of people who had hurt me and kept calling their names before God and saying, "Lord, I forgive...... Eventually, I was set free to work with a brother who had really hurt me very deeply.

One last thing on Grk/Heb thinking. When the Bible says "Faith comes by hearing," it does not mean 'listening', but obeying. When our children disobey an order, we say 'You are hard-of-hearing' we really mean, you did not obey. When the Word to Israel was, "Hear, O Isreal, the Lord our God is One Lord" it meant they should obey the command to have no other gods since the heathen had many gods. It was more than listening.

Also, when the Word tells us to believe God, it meant obeying. That's Hebrew thinking. Greeks kept belief and faith in their heads; hebrews carried it into action. Abraham believed God. He moved to the mountain with Isaac to sacrifice him. He obeyed God.

The Game

OUTLINE

1. PLAYING THE DEALT HAND

I can only use what I have

2. YOU CANNOT PLAY THE OPPONENTS HAND

To covet or be jealous or to envy even wishful thinking can only hurt me

3. PLAY ONLY WHEN IT IS YOUR TURN

Timing is everything, play 'to the whistle'

4. NEVER FORCE YOUR OPPONENTS HAND

            A game does not have to be a fight

5. ACCEPT THE CARDS YOU ARE DEALT

            Regret is a waste of energy

6. PLAY OUT YOUR HAND

            Finish the course, keep the faith

7. WIN GRACIOUSLY EVEN WHEN THE OPPONENT IS WINNING

            Graceful is about me, gracious is about others…don't be selfish.

O Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
Be Thou forever near me, my Master and my Friend;
I shall not fear the battle if Thou art by my side,
Nor wander from the pathway if Thou wilt be my Guide.

O let me feel Thee near me! The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle, the tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me, around me and within;
But Jesus, draw Thou nearer, and shield my soul from sin.

O let me hear Thee speaking in accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion, the murmurs of self will.
O speak to reassure me, to hasten or control;
O speak, and make me listen, Thou Guardian of my soul.

O Jesus, Thou hast promised to all who follow Thee
That where Thou art in glory there shall Thy servant be.
And Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow, my Master and my Friend.

O let me see Thy footprints, and in them plant mine own;
My hope to follow duly is in Thy strength alone.
O guide me, call me, draw me, uphold me to the end;
And then in Heaven receive me, my Savior and my Friend.

O Lord, Lover of men, who forgives us our sins; Cleanse us of all that is base or selfish, and make us to be in all things thy servants, and the messengers of thy love. Amen.

    Grant, O Lord, that we may meet all difficulties and temptations with a steadfast heart, in the strength of thy indwelling spirit. Amen.

    Shield us, O God, from the darkness of soul which seeth thee not, and from the loneliness of heart which heareth not thy voice, and through life and in the valley of the shadow of death, forsake us not; for thy Name's sake. Amen.

Prayers

IN THE MORNING

    Into thy hands, O God, I commend myself this day. Let thy presence be with me even to its close, that at night I may again give thanks unto thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

    Grant, O Lord, that I may not be ashamed to confess the faith of Christ crucified, and manfully to fight under his banner against sin, the world, and the devil, and to continue Christ's faithful soldier and servant unto my life's end. Amen.

    Defend, O Lord, this thy Child with thy heavenly grace; that I may continue thine for ever; and daily increase in thy Holy Spirit more and more, until I come unto thy everlasting kingdom. Amen.

AT NIGHT

    The God of peace himself sanctify me wholly, and may my spirit and soul and body be preserved entire without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

    Abide with us, O Lord, this night, and with all the sick and sorrowful, the forsaken and weary, to strengthen and to cheer, and to give rest. Amen.

    Thine is the day, O Lord, and thine the night; Grant that the sun of righteousness may abide in our hearts, to drive away the darkness of evil thoughts; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LEADERSHIP

Moral Uncertainty leads to moral confusion.

Political failure is due to lack of Moral Authority

Jeremiah 5:17 "They will devour your harvest and your food; They will devour your sons and your daughters; They will devour your flocks and your herds; They will devour your vines and your fig trees; They will demolish with the sword your fortified cities in which you trust.

The case is closed

We had

Political capital

Political Will

Intellectual capacity, firepower

But no Moral Authority.

"He that hath clean hands and a pure heart

Who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity

Nor sworn deceitfully"

The only question is whether or not

there is blood on our hands….

Innocent blood !!

How did we come to have blood on our hands?

Our ambition was good.

We were dreaming the big dream…

And now the nightmare….

Judgment first at the house of God

2 Corinthians 4:8 we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;

2 Corinthians 4:9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

And if the righteous are scarcely saved

Where will the ungodly stand.

"So the ungodly will not stand in the judgment

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous

God knows the way of the righteous

The way of the ungodly

Shall perish"

Amos 4:9 "I smote you with scorching wind and mildew; And the caterpillar was devouring Your many gardens and vineyards, fig trees and olive trees; Yet you have not returned to Me," declares the LORD.

It was not worth it…..

Gaining the whole world….

Loosing the soul.

If one of these little ones is made to harm

It were better that concrete shoes be used

On the offending ones.

<< Habakkuk 3 >>
GOD'S WORD ® Translation

1 A prayer of the prophet Habakkuk; according to shigionoth.

2 LORD, I have heard the report about you. LORD, I fear your work. In the course of the years, renew it. In the course of the years, reveal it. In all this chaos, remember to be merciful.

3 God comes from Teman. The Holy One comes from Mount Paran. Selah His splendor covers the heavens. His praise fills the earth.

4 His brightness is like the sunlight. Rays of light stream from his hand. That is where his power is hidden.

5 Diseases go ahead of him. Plagues follow after him.

6 He stands and shakes the earth. He casts a glance and startles the nations. The oldest mountains break apart. The ancient hills sink. The ancient paths belong to him.

7 I see trouble in the tents of Cushan. I see trembling in the tents of Midian.

8 The LORD is not angry with the rivers, is he? If you are angry with the rivers, if you are furious with the sea, why do you ride your horses, your chariots of salvation?

9 You get your bow ready for action, for the arrows you promised. Selah You split the land with rivers.

10 The mountains look at you. They writhe in pain. Floodwaters pass by. The deep ocean roars. Its waves rise up high.

11 The sun and the moon stand still. They scatter at the light of your arrows, at the bright lightning of your spear.

12 You march through the earth with fury. You trample the nations in anger.

13 You go out to save your people, to save your anointed. You crush the leader of the wicked household, stripping him bare from head to toe. Selah

14 You pierce the leader of his gang with his own arrows. His soldiers come like a violent storm to scatter me. They are arrogant like those who secretly eat up the poor.

15 You march with your horses into the sea, into the mighty raging waters.

16 I have heard, so there's trembling within me. At the report my lips quivered. A rotten feeling has entered me. I tremble where I stand. I wait for the day of trouble to come to the people who will attack us.

17 Even if the fig tree does not bloom and the vines have no grapes, even if the olive tree fails to produce and the fields yield no food, even if the sheep pen is empty and the stalls have no cattle-

18 even then, I will be happy with the LORD. I will truly find joy in God, who saves me.

19 The LORD Almighty is my strength. He makes my feet like those of a deer. He makes me walk on the mountains. For the choir director; on stringed instruments.

THE PRAYER

Breathe on me breadth of God

Till all my heart is pure

Until with Thee

I will one will

To do

And to

Endure

AMEN

accepting the light

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin.
<< 1 John 1:7 >>
If the Spirit of God detects anything in you that is wrong,
He does not ask you to put it right; He asks you to accept the light,
and He will put it right. A child of the light confesses instantly and
stands bared before God;
a child of the darkness says -
"Oh, I can explain that....- CHAMBERS

Titus 2:14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed,
and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain

Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

A chilling look at Israel's present and future! Examining current events that point---now---toward apocalyptic conflict, Ankerberg and DeYoung reveal Jewish leaders' plans to rebuild the temple, the threat of a burgeoning Arab population, and Iran's intention to "wipe Israel off the map."

Palm Sunday, the final Sunday before Easter Sunday, marks the beginning of Holy Week. Christian churches distribute palms on Palm Sunday to commemorate Christ's triumphal entrance into Jerusalem, when palm branches were placed in His path, before His arrest and Crucifixion on Good Friday.

Palm Sunday falls on March 28, 2010.

The Christian believes the same thing as the Jew, except may not know as
much detail on why Rosh Hashanah exists in God's prophetic plan

The 1st day of the first month (Abib/Nisan) was the first day of the Jewish religious year. It would begin at the new moon of our March / April and coincides with the latter rains (Joel 2:23). Each month began with a new moon. (Num 10:10, 28:11, 1 Sam 20:5, Psa 81:3, Isa 66:23, Ezek 46:3, Amos 8:5, Col. 2:16.) The 1st day of Tishri, in the Fall, customarily begins the new civil year.

Today, as usual we can categorize the news in terms of biblical prophecy: 1. The world aligned against Israel: "Indonesia: Thousands attend anti-Israeli rally" 2. Russian involvement in the Middle-East: "Quartet host Russia: A new broker for Israel .... Because prophetic scriptures are found throughout the bible, it is obvious that a comprehensive, systematic approach would be useful, if not necessary, for the understanding of prophecy. A literal view of prophecy clearly ...

the strife is fierce

This was a favorite of the boys at school in morning devotion. For some unknown reason this song had the participation of most of the boys. Usually morning assembly was something that was usually endured just out of duty. Of course there was the odd day when some special announcement would spark the enthusiasm like the awarding of a trophy or the anouncment of a holiday. The one other thing that really aroused the boys was the announcement of this song. The normally bored non-participating ones would join in with a real rousing shout especially on the last line of each verse. So it is not strange that this one has stuck in my mind across the years. Today it is the verse five that came to my mind. The battle metaphor is an ever present reality for the ones who follow Christ. War is never pleasant.  Some days we lose the battle with ourselves and the world. We become discouraged. We live to 'fight' another day. The war rages on all around are signs and sounds of sorrow. We are thankful for the encouragement from the ones who took the time to write these lines.

1 For all the saints who from their labors rest,
who to the world by faith their Lord confessed,
your name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia, alleluia!

2 You were their rock, their fortress, and their might;
you, Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight,
and in the darkness drear, their one true light.
Alleluia, alleluia!

3 May all your soldiers, faithful, true, and bold,
fight as the saints who nobly fought of old,
and win with them the victor's crown of gold.
Alleluia, alleluia!

4 O blest communion, fellowship divine!
We feebly struggle, they in glory shine;
yet all are one within your great design.
Alleluia, alleluia!

5 And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long,
far off we hear the distant triumph song;
and hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia, alleluia!

6 But then there breaks a yet more glorious day:
the saints triumphant rise in bright array;
the King of glory passes on his way.
Alleluia, alleluia!

7 From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast,
through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost:
Alleluia, alleluia!

truce-breakers & promise-keepers

We have not kept our word.

There are agreements in every relationship.

Sometimes they are clearly stated and many

Times they are not.

By me having a permit to use the roads in our

Town I am agreeing to follow the rules of the

Road….yet how often do I forget as I speed to

Work trying to make up time for a late start.

We go to schools at different stages in our lives

To learn first the basic rules of communicating,

(reading, writing and speaking) then we learn the

Rules of fair trading and calculating (adding, etc)

I will never forget my early years in arithmetic.

When I could not get the concepts, my teacher used

The words TAKE AWAY to help me understand

The minus sign….which brings me to freedoms.

We often forget that the freedoms we enjoy

In our communities are based on our

Agreement to follow the rules.

Sports can be a good metaphor or picture

Of life in general. Whenever there is a rule

Broken there is a penalty.

Rules are broken sometimes without intention.

At other times there is full intention. Whatever

The reason the penalty is due.

Our society is set up so that

We often loose our freedom as a penalty

For breaking a rule. Breaking the rule is

Really not sticking to the agreement.

WE DID NOT KEEP OUR WORD.

So….what's the big deal?

Well, why didn't I keep my end of the bargain?

Why didn't I keep my word?

rambling.....Judgement !! ??

the book of judges - rough stuff !!!!

Do you mind being judged? Do you believe that you are accurately judged most of the time or poorly misunderstood? How does this affect your future judgments?

hardening of the arteries...why was john in the wilderness, why stone the prophets...judgement is a HARD thing!!

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100219043823AAeos6p

We judge our friends and lovers as being worthy of friendship and love don't we?

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I'm making progress.

Love and blessings

Your brother
