My perceptual framework
Includes my biases and beliefs.
I will only 'see' as
my perception dictates.
The little children however, do not know what they are looking at until we teach what to look for.
In the meantime, while they are waiting on us to teach them 'everything'
they want to taste and touch everything even poisonous and electrically hazardous stuff. And Jesus said we are like
the little child when we are
"born again".
Do we remain like the little child, touching and tasting everything?
We want to . . . until pain is introduced. Not once, especially if there was pleasure involved. Many harmful things are at first sweet to the taste and soft to the touch.
Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.
At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
. . . thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast. They have stricken me, shalt thou say, and I was not sick; they have beaten me, and I felt it not: when shall I awake?
I will seek it yet again. - Proverbs
Modern science
calls this addiction.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
How often do I
need to learn this ?
Very
Very
Very
Often
For me Temptation seems
never to be on vacation !!!
This baby is learning
Sometimes I have to yell at him as he charges gleefully towards the staircase or reaches happily into the garbage can !!!!
I cannot allow him to permanently harm himself
So sometimes I make him uncomfortable by restricting his movement
I confine him to the playpen
where he cries for a while.
Until I get sorry for him and take him out, whereupon he promptly undertakes some new self destructive adventure.
I yelled
I confined
I slap
WILL HE EVER LEARN ?
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
BY GOD'S MERCY AND GRACE
WE EVENTUALLY GROW UP !
THE MISSION INCLUDES
"exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God."
