TWO THINGS I LEARNED
I HAVE NOT FORGOT
STILL HELP ME ••
1. "You are not allowed to . . ."
2. "Are you mad at me" ••
Back in the day I was out of control.
I didn't realize it then. During the summer the kids would be around a lot. I remember the CO saying to the persistent annoying kids, ever so patient and sweet, "you are not allowed in the office now". ••
I'm not sure why it struck me and has stuck with me, but ever since it has served as a reminder to me that I cannot do whatever I want to do. ••
I HAVE TENDED TO BE LIKE MOST MALES, AN EMOTIONAL RECLUSE.
Men tend not to be aware of "feelings". I was no exception, not deliberately but yes, insensitive. God cares about our heart, I eventually learned. Am still not good at being emotionally connected. I believe that's why I have learned to use the little phrase I learned many years ago from a dear friend; the question so simple but so powerful in every situation, it can reopen a closed channel of communication and reconnect a person with the emotions and the heart. ••
ARE YOU MAD AT ME ? ••
"the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." ••
