HUMAN INVENTIONS unlike divine creation are flawed. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. GENESIS 1:31

WHAT HAPPENED ?

THE LORD

Do we want to "traffic in Truth" or are we content to just peddle in facts?

Why the Philistines hated Sampson

He was empowered by The Spirit.
The Philistines came with human ingenuity, everytime.

They hated the idea that there was someone they could not own control or defeat.

The devil hates the idea that he CANNOT control the Christian. It's that bad. Being a Christian is war in every sense.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

So yes it is Christ I present and represent every-time a relationship is started or strengthened every word, every thought is seen in the new light . . . . . . if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

I go to church, the men are mostly good, trying to do right.

It's a good "showcase"
It's the right place to start
Forget about the hypocrisy
We all have it

The community seems like a mess
Bad news father failure everywhere

Can the government help?
I go to a regional advisory council
meeting every first Thursday
We are supposed to come up with
recommendations for the department of children and families (DCF) as to how they can do a better job. Are there hypocrites who attend? Yes at least one, me.

So what's with the "hypocrisy" stuff all of a sudden? FATHER FAILURE !

How am I gonna help no one
being so big of a failure myself ?

I can try, so I go to the FELT meeting once per month too. FATHERHOOD ENGAGEMENT LEADERSHIP TEAM

I met Mr. Kevin. I went to one of his Fatherhood Initiative /mentoring/ support group kinda meetings last Wednesday.

MOTIVE - why am I doing
the things that I do?

The Jonah Spirit - reluctance.
Lessons on giving or 'helping out'

Summing up today's teaching:
1. Am I doing it because I really want to help or am I doing it so 'they' can like me ?

2. As complex as human behavior can be do we need to ask these questions?

3. Why should it matter anyway ?

Nineveh was an ancient city that was a part of the Assyrian empire. The Israelite's constantly had problems with the people of Nineveh and Jonah would have rather watched these people suffer for their sins than to warn them about turning away from their transgressions

God saw that the people did have a change of heart, and he withheld his judgments from the people.

Jonah would have wanted the people to receive God's punishment instead of mercy and grace.

SELF-INTEREST - right or wrong?

As I thought about it
It became clear
I had been 'taken'
I was about to think "Rape!"

Then I remembered
I was asked
I said yes

It felt good as I was
'Giving it up'
I was thinking "I'm helping out"

Now I feel violated.
Why?

These are the words of a student who was asked by a supervisor to develop an organizational chart for a meeting with "the boss". The student gladly complied, sharing freely valuable expert knowledge.

In retrospect the student thought that it would have been better to "do the job without 'giving up' the "how-to". A fellow student observing the situation later commented:
". . . such a fool, always allowing people to use you !"

1. What's wrong with 'giving it up' if it makes you feel helpful ?

2. Are you being 'used' if you said yes ?

DELIVER US FROM EVIL

Sometimes people use scripture to mask real life problems - not healthy?

I do not hide behind Gods Word I use it to get healthy. So I can help others. That is my intention in getting in the Word.

". . . the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

I sought help from the mental health community. Went 51 years of my life wondering what was wrong with me. And got diagnosed and put on medication and have been completely changed by learning and reading about the mental illness I had . . . And the Church never told me I had to find out from the unsaved!!

My relationship with people and God and spouse have improved a 1000 fold with medication it is a miracle in my life that God has used for me to . . .

I have had to get help for myself before I can help others

luke 9:2And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

REGARDING PROFESSIONAL HELP

God gives gifts to men. If there is a seemingly incurable financial (or other) 'illness' then it may only be curable with a financial 'prescription'.

Lord please forgive the bitterness that I have against the HYPOCRITE.

I confess my own hypocrisy now.

When I set my expectation on the 'goodness' of humans I WILL be disappointed. EVERYTIME !

Because . . . The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

and yet, it is through the channel of humanity that goodness comes from God. "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures."

SO WHAT ?
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
