Hedonism: The Quest for the Fun Life (Part 1 of 5)....The pleasures of life seem to be first priority for many in our culture. But could it be that higher goals are part of our design and destiny?

Hedonism - The basic idea behind hedonistic thought is that pleasure is the only thing that is good for a person; indeed: the only good. This is often used as a justification for evaluating actions in terms of how much pleasure and how little pain (i.e. suffering) they produce. In very simple terms, a hedonist strives to maximize this net pleasure (pleasure minus pain).

The name derives from the Greek word for "delight"

My gladness and God’s glory seemed to cancel each other out. I had to choose between one or the other, but embracing them both struck me as out of the question. Worse still, enjoying God sounded a bit too lighthearted, almost casual, perhaps even flippant, and I knew that Christianity was serious business.
